Going to be adding a fire extinguisher to the tractor. Wondering what others are using and where is it mounted?

I added one quite a few years ago after my wiring wore through and grounded underneath the fuel tank where I couldn't get to it. Thankfully I was able to remove the front grille and yank the terminal off the battery.
Mine's mounted to the left and behind the seat just a little on the rear wheel fender.
Took quite a few hours to remove the offending harness and repair the damage.

I also have one in the cup holder in front of the center console in my truck.

Bet that made for an exciting day. I'd ultimately like to have 2. An ABC type for petroleum /electrical and a water one for wood/grass/paper fires.

Abc extinguishers are corrosive on electrical components. They will put the fire out bit may damage other parts. Why would you need a water extinguisher? Other than have a second extinguisher thats cheaper

Makes sense. There are ABC dry chem that can be recharged at home, but I've only seen them in firefighting training.

I don't own a tractor big enough for an extinguisher but I buy the marine ones for my cars. For some reason I thought there was a difference in the auto/marine vs home extinguishers and being able to deal with not being in a controlled environment. But for the life of me I can't find that information now.
So maybe it doesn't matter anymore? but something to consider?

I operate an asphalt distributor at work, amomg other heavy equipment.

I keep a smaller extinguisher in the cab, and a large extinguisher on the rear deck/bumper.

One is great! Two is better.
