That's lucky. Seems you're the exception and not the rule...

I have a good neighbor (technically next door), don't interact much but she helped me once and causes no trouble. According to a mutual acquaintance who is a distant relative of mine, the idiot is renting the house he lived in and selling the adjacent trailer house he also owned. See who moves in I guess.

On the other side, the house technically 2 doors over but feels like next door due to the layout of the houses, is now an air bnb. Most of the guests so far have been decent. The same person is also fixing up the house across the road for presumably the same purpose.

Same here. the couple to the east of us are great. Hired their little girl to grab our mail while my family was on vacation. The lady is a former marine and she makes it pretty clear that if she ever sees someone snooping around my yard she’s coming out shotgun in hand (she’s made mention a number of times).
The people immediately to my west shout over the fence “Sorry Rich!” when they think their dogs bark too much.
There’s still a lot of really nice people out there.

Lol, I still have my same crappy neighbor, but we're not going anywhere. Hopefully he'll end up having to sell, so we're looking forward to that day. Until then he's knows my stance. I didn't back down before, when he last attempted his jackassery and now we are looking forward to the day he moves. The other neighbors are fine.

No cargo. Its a dredge. We suck muck off the bottom from the shipping lanes and take it out farther and dump it.

Had enough caffeine in me so I got aggressive and went and cut down 150 or so tulip poplar. That was a job!!

Full disclosure… they were about 6 feet tall and inch thick so,. The brush hog on the tractor did most of the heavy work..

I was wondering about all the water on the "deck" when the waves weren't that bad to be breaking over the front. Thanks for the info.

Yesterday I got up earlier than usual, left my house at 4:20 am to meet a bus by 5:45. Departure was at 6 am sharp and I went with 39 complete strangers. We rode said bus until just after 10:00 to spend the next 7 hours here.

The Zoo ad at bronx zoo.jpg

Had a great time and hit everything that I was interested in (left off the Mouse House, camel ride, nature walk, tree top adventure and the Bug Carousel). I could have easily hit some of those if I had wanted to - and I did it all by walking, I did not use the shuttle at all. Not sure I would have gone on the Wild Asia Monorail if I'd thought about it beforehand. Heights are not my friend and the first thing you do after pulling our of the station is cross a bridge over the Bronx river at 35' above the water. The bridge consisted of the rails only and while sitting you are facing out the open side of the car (instead of facing the front). Most of the rest of the loop has enough trees around that I wasn't forced to realize how far away the ground was. And then of course, there was the second bridge over the river before pulling back into the station. All was good and I was glad I took the ride.

Shortly after 6 pm we left the parking lot to head back home. Had to stop at a weigh station to change drivers. It was 10:58 when I walked into my house - so it was a long day.

Sounds like fun bogieb Nice part is that you didn't have to drive. I hear you on the height thing. I would have white knuckled the bridge crossings.

Got the rest of the underside of my bed painted. Can't wait to flip it over and get the rest done. And finished off my first stack of gyprock, the room has so much more space now :)

    There are stories to tell.
I told mine a couple years ago, they dont care.for our wood stacks. We were told we dont burn any wood, and that gophers were all over our stacks, by the dozen.
    It was exciting.

Glad you had a good time. I'm not sure I would enjoy that just because of where it is.

But the food, just around the corner, is 'da bomb'. There are a couple spanish restaurants within a block or two.....goooood stuff.
Not sure I'd walk all over alone (i wouldnt blend in), but I would easily go with a couple friends.
