Today's Score Subject to Change Without Notice!

Had a score lined up for today. Small job to finish and an errand to run first. En route on the errand and i pass this. Black locust fresh cut laying in a yard...hard to miss for this eagle eyed locust maniac. Hoarding plans changed real fast. Quick loop around the block, car in driveway. Knocked and the guy answered. I get the okay to cut and take. An hour later i had it cut and loaded. Almost got clotheslined in the process. Funny thing is its right by a major intersection that i go through very often. When stopped at the light i marvel at the grove of BL trees in his yard never thinking id be cutting one up someday. (pic from diagonally across the street) He has some older BL limb wood ill go back for. Almost a half cord for the score. 400 did most of the cutting. Took to storage and split as i unloaded. Almost finished and splitter ran out of gas. Close to quitting time anyhow. Oh and the other score ill hit tomorrow.

Excellent wood get right there! I need more BL in my life it just doesn't present itself that often.

 

luckily the metal was visible, but a bazillion ants in the wood. Tried to leave those at the score.

Yeah and to think i was wanting a good score earlier in the week. Finally heard back from that other guy off 150 in Wallingford.

 

Although that one BL score you got was nothing to shake a stick at...a BL stick

 

Same here. I am well over 50. I do run every day, however. From the bedroom to the bathroom when I first wake up. I cover that 15 feet in seconds flat!

 

I know the feeling.

BTW Brad, I had a friend who builds porches for a living come out. He agreed with the ideas you and I talked about. He had tables to look at for PSI or per sq ft. It will be an expensive build, 6x6 posts, 2x10 and 2x8's, and 2x whatevers for the decking. 28,000 is a lot of weight.

Im thinking of setting a few posts, and building just a portion at a time, then more posts and porch next year. I have 2 weeks to get something done before the ash score starts.

I do for the most part. Upper teens for BL cords. Sold close to ten cords of it last Winter.
