I've always wanted a 550xp but the frugal side of me could not justify it since I already had a Stihl ms261.
I started having some idling issues as well as hot start issues on the 261 so I finally decided to change the black solenoid for the updated white version. When I tried to do the reset for it it fired up and ran for about 5 Seconds and shut off and would not start again. With a little help from huskihl I have determined it's a lean score. So I'll be sending it off to Kevin to see if it's salvageable.

While surveying FB market place I saw a local add for a Husqvarna 545 Mark ii. Met up today and looked it over, 2021 model, started up and ran perfectly. Has the x cut chain plus a extra new Oregon chain, and it doesn't look like it has been used much if at all. For $360 I gave it a new home.

Nice Husky and I hope it works well for you. Sorry to hear about the 261 and hope Kevin can get it going again.

Very good buy. As close to a 550 as you can get. I’ve been wanting to try out the XCut chain but I have so much LGX/EXL I’m not sure I’ll get the chance.

I really like the handling and utility of a 50cc saw. That ought to do you well and it was a great deal! The 261's are good runners too....hard to have too many saws.

Nice and clean. Nothing wrong with that for a "firewood saw"

Gave it a little action today. Handles well, feels lighter than my MS 261. Did notice it slowing down in the cut some on occasion.

Sorry to hear of the 261's issues. Loved my carbed one and treated me well for 2.5 years. Sold it to Stihl Kicking after i replaced it with a very slightly used 261c. So far no issues and my go to saw most of the time.
Looks like a decent saw and id say a good buy at that price. Hope it treats you well.

Last time I was there I didn’t know the 241 existed. It’s a road trip and gas is too high, so I’ll need some firewood cash before going back. :saw:

I’d send that 545 to Kevin, and get him to work his magic on that. I have the red version that Kevin did which is 2252. One word to sum it up is wow.
