I'm currently running a husqvarna 545 for my main saw and a 435 for light work. I'm going to start cutting about 30 cord a year to sell as a side hustle so I'm going to add a third and possibly 4th saw to the stable. Was thinking about 562xp or 572xp. I'm wondering who has experience with the 2 because I like the price point of the 562xp obviously. I'd even consider 550xp, but don't want to regret getting to little saw. Any opinions?

    M2theB has both
I have a firewood side hustle and I think 10-12 saws is the sweet spot :saw:

    i have all three.
562 and 572 have Kevin’s work on them
    The 550’s are stock
    Like all three.
I think the 550 is more for in the woods than in a pile of logs
I think if I to choose down to one saw between the 562 and 572 as a firewood saw, it would be the 562. But that would be a “have to choose” scenario.
And i wouldn’t be happy about it.

I’m not trying to promote my own business here. Lord knows my waiting list is pretty long. After having run most of them in the woods and in log piles, this is what I would do.

I would get your 545 ported and I would buy a new 572 either stock or ported. I do get pretty decent prices new huskies and could set you up with either a new ported or stock 572 if you like. Send me a message if that sounds of interest to you

I don't have direct experience with the 2 saws you're asking about. I primarily run 576XPs. My point is, at or near 30 cords, don't skip on HP. I've never run a 550 either, but unless you're exclusively cutting skinny firewood poles, I think you'll be happy with one of the bigger saws you inquired about.

I was recently told by a wise man that if a man is expected to live with the same woman most of his life he should be able to have as many saws as he wants. Lol.

The 550 is not that different from the 545 you already have.

572 will be noticeably more power (and heavier). I have never run a 562 but they’re supposed to be great saws.

    i think a 50cc + 70cc combo is great….but you know eventually you’ll have all three.

Thanks! Why would you pick the 562xp. I did notice a big weight difference, but haven't ran either one.

I'm worried the 545 has lived a full life and don't want to put much $$$ into it. As for porting a new saw, I would worry about warranty issues?

i think it’s probably weight to cut ratio.
572 does feel and is heavier and I notice it when I first grab it. But not for long. Kinda get used to it.
562 is just very versatile. I’d be hesitant to run a 24” bar on it all the time, but it’ll pull it.

What will you be cutting? Working in the woods or cutting up logs? I'm a Stihl guy- I have a 260, 400, and a 461. The 50cc saw is my "handy saw", the 400 is for working up a whole tree, and I switch between the 461 and 400 when cutting up loads of logs. I bought the 260 first, then the 461 6 years ago, and added the 400 in April.
I would suggest the 562 if you are cutting in the woods, and the 572 if you are bucking up logs.

Warranty, shmoranty. I would not hesitate to hand Kevin a new saw. He may even find something the factory missed. It's doubtful I will ever buy a new saw, but before I put gas in Kevin will put his spinny thing in it.

100% agreement. He's voided 3 of my warranties and I have zero concerns.

Are you dead set on a husky? If not a Stihl 500I w/ huskihl XS does numbers on wood. Its light and powerful... But if not I'd be looking at a 572 or even a 576 just for HP... I've got a 576 and its a pleasure to handle with its vibration system...
