We had some drizzle yesterday. Hoping some rain comes soon.

I guess we are pretty fortunate, we have been getting a thunderstorm every few days here lately...the one the other night did spawn off a small tornado about half an hours drive from here, did some damage locally, but nothing widespread...unfortunately this same area was already still cleaning up from a huge storm about 6 weeks ago...that one did a ton of damage...I think I may have mentioned it here back then, but one guy said he had 200 acres of woods and it was all flattened.

I guess we are lucky also, as some around are discussing severity of drought. We are trying to mow before the deluge

I am wondering if WeldrDave will be taking in the Cape May festivities today. Craft beer, music and crab fest today. Enjoy Dave.

Does Menards have curbside pick up or do you have to go inside? And what is that item Yoops and Schlot always buy there?

Took the electric wheel chair outside today for a few minutes. Just too hot, humid and suffocating to out for more than a short period.

So you guys will love this.

Today, I’m sitting on the running board of the ol blue truck and contemplating the next step of the garage addition.
A young couple stops out on the road on their electric bikes, helmets, all the fancy gear and starts talking.
    “Whatcha building?
    Swimming pool.
And the lady says to her boyfriend.
“ Look. He made the long ways the shallow side.”
And her man says. (And I’m rolling even now typing this an hour later)
“ that’s so more people can enjoy the shallow side just sitting and hanging out in the water.”

    I left it alone…[IMG]

I'm sorry. Is your sunroom/entry way okay or too hot too?

I can cool that area down, but the area is so bright, it hurts the eyes. Better there in the spring and fall. I tried going out today. I wanted to go for a ride, but just too darn hot. Ozone too high. Could go out at sunset, but then too tired. In a month, the heat will be all gone.

It’s been so dry here there were some grass areas on the interstate that had caught fire. Monday they’re predicting .3 of an inch. Not much help.

On the bright side, although it has been hot here the last several days, the humidity has been low enough (high 40's) that I've been comfortable sitting outside reading for an hour or so in the afternoons. So not oppressive, but still, don't want to do any work in the sun when it is 96*.

And for something related, but a bit of a departure; I've been using a large towel to cover my bathroom window since I put the garden window in there in 2014. Past summers I've put up pieces of rigid foam insulation along the side windows to keep some of the solar gain out. This year I got a double-cellular light filtering shade (did that for all my bay windows too - HD had a 25-35% off sale). So back to replacing the towel - I decided to get an actual curtain. The color isn't really true in the pictures. The towel at the right is a light blue, the walls are are not so yellow, and the shade is a light blue that is a close match to the towel (Estria Summer Sky blue to be exact).

Now I have to get a lid cover that matches a bit better

We have been getting a soaking since around 9:45 last night. At times it was almost deafening it was so hard. No sprinkler running for me this week.

I spoke with a fellow from Big Rapids and he said the same and they got over 3". I lost my rain gauge but a neighbor said 1 1/2" well before the rain stopped so Maybe 2". That is the most we've got for probably a year.

Losing 200 acres of trees would suck big time, can't like that.

The guy who sings the Dildo song realized he'd caught a tad over his limit this morning and gave us 2 fish :)
