I used the last month of hot and dry to kill many of my thorn bushes. I have a mix of round-up and 2,4-D that I spot spray directly on the broadleaf plants I want dead. The weeds were already stressed so the herbicide mix really worked fast on them. This coming week of dry and 100+ temps should finish them off.

If you want to kill some trees this weather should work well. Drill and kill method should work fast with the added heat stress. The problem trees should really soak up the herbicide and spread it throughout the canopy quickly.

You know,I've honestly never given much thought to proper herbicides for some reason. Used salt a couple times and they seem to even resist that pretty well. When I first started on my house/property after it wasn't lived in for nearly 20 years, they were might near as tall as me and as stiff as a baby tree. Cut them down with a saw and literally hauled away truckloads. They occupied just about the whole front yard. Since then it's just been occasionally fighting softer smaller sprouts, but they're the worst this year that they've been since. Mostly because I've been so busy with other things that I haven't had a chance to keep ahead of the yard, but I'm soon going to have to make time.

One of these days I'll get my yard leveled up nice. Limited budget and bigger priorities right now.

I ran the splitter today, it sounded absolutely terrible. I figured the gas went bad, but some smoke came from the muffler after about 30 seconds of running. Pulled off the exhaust deflector and mud daubers made a nest inside the exhaust.

Scraped most of it out and pulled the cord and back to normal.

They like my ope, I've had mud daubers in my leaf blower two years in a row. The exhaust on my BG50 is about the size of a pencil. It sure is hard to eat when you cant... you know the rest.

Only solution is to use the splitter more often. Just need to source more wood.

I don't think rams have ever been known for great gas mileage. They have made some nice trucks on recent years, i really like the 09-18. I don't mind the current ones, but I would go ford if I were buying a new truck now.

So dry at my place. Didn't mow last weekend, nor will I be mowing this weekend. 3 weekends ago I just did spot mowing (shady and low lying areas). Technically, according to the drought map, we are only in a moderate drought. But in my spot I would think it is more towards the severe side.
