Big box Stihl's

I think there was a discussion somewhere about big box/chain stores starting to sell Stihl products.
I know our local Ace Hardware sells some Stihl equipment.
We went to a Northern Tool store Sunday afternoon. They had a nice little section...
And a few saws...had a 191T also.
How about a special edition MS461

 

Stilh's mandatory display- dictated right down to the last inch ( well millimeter, them being from the other side of the big pond) local hardware store is a Stilh dealer had to re-arrange about a third of the store to make room for the display and support items.

 

Which one did you buy???

 

. SURE Wasn't that MS461 concrete saw. Did you see that price?

 

I didnt even realize it was a concrete saw! Saw the price on the 201. Theyve gone up, unless that dealer has high prices. AFAIK Stihls around here are only sold at OPE dealers.

 

I think it's a little of both on prices.
I first looked at that 461, great they have 1, then I saw the price...
It has the water hose hookup, then I pulled the scabboard down and looked at the chain...that was neat.

 

Yeah it is cool. I studied the pic closely after you said it was a concrete saw. Wonder how it cuts through nail embedded wood?

 

Remember that video from a couple years back "Honey Badger don't give a Fook"?
Concrete saws cut right through concrete full of rebar...diamond cutters pretty much don't give a F about your "hardwood with nails"...

 

We have concrete and ductile iron versions. The DI (chain) is really slow compared to a round DI blade.

 

Dont recall seeing that one unless in a section i dont go to often.

 

Diamond abrasive on chain blades isn't worth squat in wood.

 

Yeah it doesn't cut much of anything fast...nowhere near as fast as a sharp chain through wood...

 

Bet they cut petrified wood better than a regular chain saw!
