I am sure there are bigger ones but I can’t say I have seen one that I can recall. Took my daughter for a ride on the 4 wheeler to a very old cemetery ( I know , dad of the year…. ). Anyway, oldest grave we could read was a 23 day old baby that went to heaven in 1879. This big oak stands in the middle of the plot. I bet it has seen many a tear shed , maybe that is why she has grown so big. Over 13’ in circumference. Also found an interesting stand pipe that has been claimed by nature.
Its always nice to marvel at a huge tree and wonder what it has experienced in its life. If only they could talk.
If they could talk, we'd likely know for sure if bears s&*t in the woods. They'd probably know a lot of curse words, too.
Not really. I’ll use a 28” bar on it to speed up the hoarding process for medium size wood. At that length you can put a larger rim sprocket on and really spool up chain speed. I’d say monster status, for me, is 40” and over.
That is definitely a big piece of wood. Hopefully your grandkids can take their kids to see it someday.
Very cool! There was a giant Oak at the Quabbin reservoir that was taken down. It was about 8 feet in diameter. The Oaks can get quite big.
