    Coming home this afternoon and i see this flapping on the edge of the gravel driveway. IMG_1394.JPG IMG_1395.JPG IMG_1396.JPG IMG_1400.JPG Let it go on a beech limb. I think it just emerged from its cocoon and couldnt fly. Checked later on and it was still there. IMG_1401.JPG I love nature!

    Ooh, we had one here on our screen door early morning just after dawn when I opened the sliding door a week or two ago. It stayed there for over an hour and by the time kid got up to look it had left by only 10 minutes. Beautiful and curious little creature. I've seen a couple things here before I thought were bats around dusk. Hmmmm.

    There's another one very similar, but has different "eyes" on it's wings. Interesting we have the same one as Brad in CT!

    It may be a cecropia moth. Even bigger with the"eyes". Ive seen a luna moth here as well. Very unique green color.

    We have a light that comes on at dusk and the bugs love it. Few years back i kept hearing a gentle thud against the house. Turns out to be one of the big moths flying around the light.

    I think I remember you posting that back then? Yes, the one here was under our patio light too.... I think it's the species you saw, I counted the eyes and colors for google. Only exception was this one was darker, rich chocolate brown to reddish, and the bottom eyes had some blue to them.

    I've only seen one a handful of times, but this time I had a chance to look at it up close.
