Enjoying a break in the heat & humidity having an Olive 2nd & enjoying listening to the birds. It was 84* with 83% humidity but now low 70’s* with upper 60’s humidity & a nice light breeze. We had 2.35” of rain last night/this morning. Edit : not really enjoying the woodpecker that is working over the tin roof at the moment…
I snagged some Camacho Nicaraguan Barrel Aged & a box of Cohiba Puro Dominicanas Churchills off of CB this evening. I am pretty excited to try the Camacho’s & very happy with the price I gave for the Cohiba’s. I was really wanting toros or robustos but they only had boxes of Churchills. I gave $97 for the box. Now I just need yooperdave to chime in, rain on my parade & tell that they go down to $85 or something lower…
The instances of prices I quote are from days of old. Those deals aren't gonna be here anymore but I do like to remember them now and then. Kinda like gas prices, no? I hope you give a review of the camachos you grabbed as I was semi-interested in them also. I am with you on preferring the toros or robustos over the churchills. I wonder if we give up a bit of taste by grabbing the smaller cigars? Had a couple of those good time's country man this week. It's hard to sit and enjoy a cigar when you are busy swatting mosquitos full time. More importantly, glad you're feeling well once again!
I had this Charter Oak Connecticut Toro this morning while hauling a load of corn. It was ok but I liked the Rothschild Maduro better.
I also had this Kristoff Kristonia while going to pick up my Gator from the shop. It was ok, nothing to write home about.
I am having a Ramone Allones Small Club Corona this evening & going to use my new cigar accessory. This stogie has a super tight draw.
So I am sitting here looking over my orders, I thought I ordered a 10 pack of Alec Bradley Tempus Nicaragua Quadrum But I have qty of 2 - 10 packs coming… In thought I bought a 10 pack of the Camacho Nicaraguan Barrel Aged but I have Qty of 2 - 10 packs coming… I sure hope I like them.
After I the first 1/3 or so of the Ramon Allones came to life & has good flavor. The perfec tool did its job, pulled out a stem & wad of stuff. It will be about a 1 hour smoke.
Sounds familiar... I've been more impressed with the Alec line here lately... Now that draw thingy ma bob you got there, looks like a dangerous weapon... ... What exactly does it do? Just pushes a hole through? No damage to cigar wrapper? Curious...
You spin it as you push it in, it cuts as you go. Then just pull it back out, it brings out fines & pieces of tobacco. If you happen to hook a stem it will pull that also but if it’s a nasty one you have to be careful pulling or you can goober up your cigar while holding it & pulling.
I am going to have this one this afternoon while it’s nice & nobody is around. It’s a box press. I am prepping for a fire this evening for two of the girls & there families, 2 sister in laws.
The La Aroma de Cuba was really good on the first 2/3 then I fell asleep in a chair in the shade with a nice breeze blowing. The last 1/3 was ok, I don’t have much luck with letting them go out & relighting.
Having this Gurka Governor’s Private Blend tonight while the fire burns down. Everyone has cleared out so it’s just me, the fire & the wildlife.
Isla del sol Maduro yesterday mowing grass. First one I’ve had and it was nice and sweet but not sickening. Time for a little bush hog time and one of my favorites today.
