    They are driving them down. They have to. There is way more metal represented by paper ETF’s than physically exists. The amount represented is impossible to deliver... A lot of entities have bought SLV, GLD and similar ETFs on margin. Similar to crypto where some are now taking a bath. Driving the price of the physical down has a cost, but that cost will pale in comparison to the savings the big firms (who shorted) will realize when accounts are liquidated to make the margin call payments.. Even though the price on the futures market may drop, the price for physical doesn’t go down as much if the demand is still there. Doesn’t hurt to add a little at a time.
