The plug has a little carbon on it, but nothing serious. It’s not covering the electrode. You can buy a test kit which will find if there is exhaust gas in the coolant. Our SUV just started having a rough idle until it comes off high idle when you first start it. Could be a number of things, but these vehicles are crazy complicated today and DIY is getting tougher to do.

That plug does look rich...gap is not terrible. Does the oil smell like gas?
    Any check engine lights?
Something sudden like that I'd check for vacuum leaks...listen carefully, and you can use brake cleaner to spray around suspected areas...the idle will change for a second or two if a leak sucks up some brake cleaner fumes

Gotta love it when a buddy swings by unannounced to drop off some free firewood. Yes, it's hemlock, however it's already cut to 16", he delivered it, and it was free. The tree was felled last fall so it should dry fairly quickly once split (it's not for this season anyway). Hemlock makes great SS wood IMO.

So if its not one thing its another my starter quit, it had been going out. Whenever it gets hot it might not turn over at all. Replaced that.

The vacuum canister was leaking! It looks like a soup can, I removed it and soaped it up and blew into one of the holes and there was a leak. I put rtv around it for now. Reinstalled and the idle was a 900 rpm. It is supposed to be 725. Pretty close. Once the truck warmed up it went up to 1300 rpm. I went through a can of parts cleaner spraying the hoses and intake manifold etc, and nothing.

It might be the engine coolant temp sensor. I tried probing and was getting no voltage on the wiring and no resistance from the sensor. I'm going to dig out the Chiltons manual and see what I can find out.

Becoming a daily (nightly) occurrence in the yard this summer. Better leave my stacks alone!

This was a sow with at least two cubs. Guess she brought them over to use a pile of my unprocessed logs as a jungle-gym.

Well, at least you'll know what did it if they topple over! And if they don't fall, you have some superior stacking skills!

Cleaning the staging/splitting area up a little today. The not so fun part of firewood’n. And white oak makes it 10X as bad as it needs to be.

Can someone direct me to the place where names are assigned for different levels of cordwood please? I just totaled up all my split/stacked wood and want to make sure my sig line is accurate.

There can be different levels of addiction, lets discuss.
    1 to 3 cord = social hoarder
    3 to 6 cord = wood-a-holic
    6 to 10 cord = cord-hoarder
    10 to 15 cord = BTU possesor
15 to 20 cord = SWA (severe wood addict)
    20 to 25 cord = FBCJ (full-blown cordwood JUNKIE)
    25 - 30 cord = woodpile PSYCHO.
    30 - 35 cord = Firewood FREAK
    35 cord - up = Cordwood CORLEONE

This is in the official firewood hoarders thread in the woodpile page 1.

That's it, thank you! I need about 3-4 more cord to make FBCJ.

Used the tractor to pull bushes out of the ground. 3 big ones were next to the garage and I didn't like them taking up valuable laydown space. Then used tractor and my 3 point skidding plate to skid 12"x8" I beams off the car hauler trailer. Then used front end loader and forks to put I beams on locust posts in my newly opened up laydown area.

Got a small load of red oak cut and in the truck. 3 pieces 18" long off of a 22" diameter log at the green waste site. Had to noodle them so I could load them. Too tired to unload this weekend.

Now to get car trailer set up with short log bunks and ramps to parbuckle a load of white oak and ash logs
