Since I was a kid, I loved getting and setting off fireworks. July 4th is right next to Christmas for my favorite holiday. In PA the good stuff wasn't available until a few years ago. I use to save my money all year and would blow it on buying fireworks when we went on vacation in South Carolina. My mom would always complain that it was a waste of money.
I wasn't allowed to buy the real big stuff. But boy, my friends and I thought roman candles, m100s and large bottle rockets were the cat's azz. LOL.

Now I do buy the big stuff. My boys love it as much as I do. From the tinest cake to the large canister shells. Especially my youngest. We get ads for firework stores and he sits and figures out what is the best deal for the money and how to get the best bang for our dollar. He has a legit shopping list. Now my wife says it's a waste of money.
We have quite the hoard going on.

Any other firework junkies out there?

Yep...infact just about to go outside and start fusing things together... Been doing our show for the last 5 or 6 years. Seems to grow every year. Hopefully will get a drone up in the air for it...

    Last year’s...

Oh yeah. You do it right!.
My kids dont want me to fuse them together. They want to see each one in it's own glory. I can get by letting 3 off at the same time, but that's the limit.

Take a whole package of Roman candles and tape them together. Then with spare fuse, connect them together.

I'll use the hole in a cinder block to hold it upright. Light fuse and enjoy.

I live in CT so all we’re allowed are sparklers. To obtain them you have to take a 12 week training course for $5700, apply for a sparkler carry permit which are $1200 per box, but you have a 3 box limit per decade. After all that, the state police have to be notified of when you plan to light off each individual sparkler, and you have to pay their overtime out of pocket while they stand there and watch you light each one, with the fire department there on standby.
A lot of people take the drive to either Pennsylvania or New Hampshire to fill up their trunks with the good stuff like mortars, Saturn missiles, Roman candles etc

The boys convinced me to go the firework store. There's 3 in the area. We go to phantom fireworks on route 83 close to the MD state line.
    The place was crazy:loco: :crazy::hair:.
I saw only a few PA tags in lot. Everyone else from MD, VA, and DC.
    People had $1,000s in stuff.
One dude had a rental trailer stuffed full.
I told the boys that's capitalism at its best. Hope he didnt get pulled over.
12% extra tax the state throws on. As my youngest said, "that's totally bogus man"

I used to be a fireworks junkie. I guess I outgrew it?

Before I did, I made sure it was handed down!

Not too many years ago, my son's buddy worked for an Indian reservation fireworks stand and he told my son to be sure to stop by. My son ended up paying 10% of whatever the prices were.....:bug:

That's right, a 90% discount! Yep, that was the best display we ever had!!!

Nope. Hate fireworks. When you played with explosives most of your life and have set of explosive shots in the tons, fireworks are just noisy annoyances.

I love fireworks, but Holly once went after a mortar..

    Nope.. not since

Neighbors put on a small show last night. Holly wasn't thrilled, but we were inside, so she wasn't too bad.

Pretty sure Massachusetts is the only state to ban ALL fireworks. No sparklers, zilch, nada, nothing . Neighborhood is fairly quiet this year, but it's still early. Kids across the street had a few bricks of firecrackers but that's it so far. Used to have to get doggy valiums for the dog. A huge mastiff hiding in the closet, petrified, is comical and sad at the same time.

Show went off in 15 minutes... 380 morters...and four cakes... we traditionally just fuse and let it run its course... this year I bought a cheap ignition system. It was okay worse thing about it was the range. They call “safe”. I’d call marginal... only had one ground blow but the tube sacrificed itself and did what’s its meant todo absorb the blow. No drone action... but got 2 videos... may try to upload later on when it’s a 100 degrees outside...

Its a sad and pathetic irony that the state where "the shot heard around the world" happened, doesn't allow the citizens to celebrate with fireworks.

If the shot heard round the world was to happen today several dozen Karens would be dialing 911 screaming about their rights to peace and quiet. It would become the Karens heard round the world. Or maybe the tweet heard round the world, either way it could go viral.

Am I the only person thinking, “yeah, we all are” when I thought I read this title as firewood junkies?
