Dont see any snow Cash Larue, guess the Avs did win the cup. You have a pretty decent neighbor, even if he is the salty type . Im in the same boat as The Wood Wolverine when it comes to doing firewood as a kid. My issue was that I had to stack wood, and my dad rarely burned. So much "work" that went to waste. It was frustrating. I think I make it fun for my sons, though they may say different.
Ha ha! The Avs did it! It’s been a long time! That was so exciting! I can’t imagine cutting and splitting - to never use the firewood I try to make it fun for my little guy too. I explain everything that I’m doing to him. It keeps him interested and engaged. It’s the same thing my dad did with me. I always offer encouragement when he tosses wood chips and bark into the trailer too. Those wood chips will get bigger as he gets older. Someday I’ll actually need his help, when he’s bigger and stronger than me.
I was there for Game 3 of the 2001 championship series! I won a contest, but I’m a Bruins fan so I didn’t care much. EXCEPT Ray Bourque had just joined the Avs, and I loved him, so when he scored my Boston buddy and I went crazy. Psyched to see him hoist the Cup eventually. My kids helped me load my van tonight. I made them yell whether each piece they loaded was a “shorty”, “ugly” or “beauty”. They seemed to enjoy it. I’m going to make them help me for hours this weekend—-I’ll need to think of some new games. gulp
As a recovering Whalers fan (still) i was glad for Borque when he won it with the Avs back then. He was a class act. Felt bad for Bruins fans. I went to Game 3 of the 2002 finals...the triple overtime game. Canes lost to Redwings Saw the cup skated the following year after game 7..Ducks lost to Devils.
Cash Larue that is great getting that wood and made even better having your son with you. I remember good times working with my 2 sons and many times my wife would also be with us. Those were the best times! Unfortunately I do not have good memories working with my father. My good memories began after I left home but my best memories really began on 6/30/62 when I married the love of my life and then after a year we started raising little people.
