Soooooo true. Science is proven facts with tons of proven data not agendas that are pushed!

I'm sure that there are scientists (today) that have the drive and curiosity of Darwin, Einstein and the other great minds of the distant past, and I don't assign my scepticism across the board to today's scientists. I do think that one's naive to believe that money, politics and being in the "cool club" doesn't have anything to do with the rules of real science.
Making sensational claims, that by the way they are forced to alter their claims or change the language over the 40+ years (since global cooling, the start of today's foolishness) is just ridiculous to anyone whose been around for those 40+ years with the slightest bit of awareness and memory.
How pompous does one need to be to think that they can alter the earth especially when the uppity ups in this fad enjoy multiple large homes, travel by limousines and private jets?
All this while they spew their lies and theories to the willing idiots and sycophants on the streets (with their oil based backpacks, clothes, sneakers and bottled water).
All that aside, how about some "before & after" pictures of your mulching project. It must be well on its way greening back up.

    Sycophants...nice, there's a 50 cent word.

I can certainly understand your perspective and aggravation with pompous hypocratic leaders, but if you put aside the political ideology and sensational claims of climatology in its infancy and just look at the data, climate change as the result of human activity is undeniable. From a biological perspective it is naive to think that life on earth doesn't affect the earth itself, that's been the case since life evolved from the primordial ooze of infant earth some 4 billion years ago.

The silvopasture area is grassing up nicely after the mulching. A few more years and it should be ready to support some limited livestock. The rest of the back 40 is also coming back nicely, the wildlife is definitely on the increase.

    Looks great Dave!
    (You're pasture project)
What's the "sticker" on that 150?
IF I were in the market for a brand new vehicle I'll admit that I'd take a look at the one "work" level truck that we touched on earlier, but I believe that you said that it's a "fleet" type vehicle as far as sales go.
That video.... kinda gives a whole new meaning to "what cha got under the hood"!

Total (Car) Recalls: What They Are and How to Check if Your Car Has One
Are you going to let us know each time there’s an ev recall? We get it, you’re not a fan. According to motor trend, there were 786 vehicle recalls in 2020 so this is hardly an issue exclusive to ev’s.

I'm gonna venture into this quagmire again.

If I could afford an EV for my work commute, and I could solely power it via solar panels, I would.

Can I do my yard work with battery powered equipment? Not feasibly.

I like my battery powered weed whacker, after the 4 batteries are dead, I'm done.

    I dislike weed whacking.
    :mad::mad:

But, mowing a few acres of yard/field just isn't amenable to a battery powered solution.

Are there problems with EV's, I'm certain of it. Are they the "final solution", doubtful... Yet.

I just don't think it should be mandated that citizens adopt some new tech, especially if the long term benefits are still unproven.

Exactly...being pushed "out of the frying pan and into the fire" is total BS...like I said before, when (if) they work out all the many kinks, the customers will come, as long as it all adds up to do so.

They have to start somewhere . Are the perfect ? No not yet , nothing is but it takes time . Are we gonna wake up tomorrow and find all the gas stations closed because these EV’s are being “ pushed “ ? I doubt it .
I can’t but think of when they started with cell phones and my dad had one of those big bag phones . If there was social media back then do you think there would have been tons of people saying “ how can they put cell towers up all over the country “? Who wants to carry one of those things around ? Look where we have come in a short time since then .
My first real PC cost just over $3000 and it was a 486DX2-66with a super fast dial up modem . Lol Talk about a slow boat to China !

I hear ya...but they also didn't politicize landline phones..."you landliners are killing the earth, convert now"...its all the back room dealing, politician pushing, and just downright angry greenie weenies that turn me off of it all.
Once things get to the point where its a no brainer, I'll consider it...until then nah...it took me forever to dump my landline too BTW...and have threatened to go back a few times too!
Its not that I'm just anti technology either...I enjoy my electric gadgets too...heck, I have a computer controlled wood furnace for Pete's sake!

My first cell phone was my mother's after she passed in 2011.. not so very long ago.

We don't all want to live like YOU do.

Some like living in an HOA where they can control the height of their neighbors grass.

I don't want to, and won't ever live under those constrictions.

It seems that nowadays if you disagree with what's "popular" and "socially recognized" then you are out of the mainstream of the loud crowd, and should move on.

There's way more quieter folk than there are of the screamers.

You're just not hearing them bitch as loudly.

BTW.. as China has nearly 1.5 Billion people, vs. the scant roughly 350 Million people the US..

Who do you think has the largest impact on the planet?????

Guess we should all walk, while a country with about 20% of the planet's population get mobile.

It's not about cars.. It's about population exceeding natural resources.

    Edited for numerical accuracy..

    Rant continues..

Furthermore, if we can put so damm many satellites in space to ensure we can "tweet" one another, why the F#$# can't we put solar stations in orbit to send down something useful???

There are no clouds in space, and it seems to me that the huge fusion reactor at the center of our solar system is more than up to the task.

And when it isn't, we'll have larger issues to deal with.

But we won't address that issue because it's not a political stumping point.

The problems we have ARE solvable, but it's not in the thinking of politicians to create a solution, but to exploit the situation.

    Enough, I'm exhausted.
    Peace.

"He" has considered buying one until the reality set in of just how feasible it would be along with the real cost of owning one.

We'll wait until the bugs are ironed out of them (however long that'll be) and then consider it again. Until then, all the other owners of them can convince themselves of just how great they are and live with their reduced capabilities while still trying to convince themselves they have a great vehicle!

We had a recall on one vehicle because the label for proper tire inflation was either wrong missing, can't recall which. It was 2015. That might as well be 1776 lol.
