Sawed these down today, smells like black locust, but obviously it's not.
Super sticky dap under the bark.
    Splits
    nicely.
    Basswood maybe?
I'm located in south central Missouri.

The ID app calls out red mulberry.

I can't remember if it had flowers on it last summer or not, but no sign of flowers this year.
The large leaves make me think catalpa, though I don't recall seeing the seed pods last year either.

Good call with the app. I’m only familiar with the Asiatic white mulberry that’s prevalent in my area. I just noticed the edges of the leaves are serrated too, so definitely not catalpa.

Catalpa leaves around me here in WI are much larger than the ones in your pic almost the largest leaves I have ever seen.
    I guess Mulberry

I just walked across the road from me and plucked a Catalpa leaf off a nice one growing in the small rural cemetery I maintain.
    No serrations on the leaf.

My Missouri tree Id book says mulberry leaves are 2"-5" long, and alternately attached while catalpa leaves are 6"-12" oppositely attached, and without teeth, so deff not catalpa.

These leaves are mostly between 4" and 10".

Dang if it was a mulberry, cause I like trees that make something edible!
Guess I'll have to start checking with FHC every time I wanna saw down a tree!

App does say red mulberry for leaves but the bark pic produces this:
    DC17F72E-4709-4F6B-852C-9CD7832B6A6F.png

Doesn’t quite match my experience with red. When I cut it, it produces very yellow saw chips. Wondering if this would be white?

Mulberry is EXCELLENT firewood. Rare in these parts. Id take all i can get and was fortunate enough to score it three times this year so far. I go out of my way for it. Some was saved to be milled. What thickness did you mill yours Sawdust Man

It's too small to bother trying to mill, just gonna make about a wheelbarrow load of firewood.

Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated!
