Just finished this stack of chestnut oak. Most cut to 21” but for a while I was cutting at 24-25”. Majority of those splits were put on the top row, in the middle. What say ye?
Hmm...ok...I went 17.5' long, 6' tall, and 21" deep...then rounded up to 1.5 Or is it 2 rows deep? I edit my guess to 3 in that case...
Splits are 2 wide up to the top row, where I single stacked the 24" wide pieces on top. I'll go take another pic.
I agree, 2.5 maybe 3 if its enough above the pallet deck. 5 pallets at 40"×48" each is 2 cord at 4' tall...guessing you have 5' in height there? I always go taller, just because of void spaces middle and cribbing, for the measured cord. Looks good tho! What year is this in your plan? Sca
A solid 2 for sure. Maybe 3….but either way you have a seasons worth of cold weather wood right there no doubt.
Without giving too much away, the 2 wide is taller than 5' (measuring from wood, not ground), then add the middle row.. I end up stacking from the bed of the trailer. I don't want to go longer so I go taller. Yet to be determined on when this will get burned. When I'm done getting wood from the honey hole, I'll do a final tally on what I have on hand. I think I'm going to be at 5 years or beyond. I had to move next winters wood into the basement from this spot so I had the room to stack it.
Just about. Since changing to this add-on furnace that blows into my existing HVAC system, I've been using around 4 cord.
