Severe Weather ?

Very active day...

 

The lights are starting to flicker.

 

Power outages west and north of us but we're good.

 

Very windy here today too. Kept the bugs at bay during splitting time!

 

Tornado warning? I had no idea. no alerts on my phone. We had a little thunder storm blow through this afternoon but it's bark was worse than it's bite. Loon said it was similar at his place.

 

I personally pay more attention to the German shepherd as she’s more accurate than weather forecasters. She’s telling me something is coming

Our dog was acting crazy running around and jumping up and down about an hour before the storms hit.

 

Too much sugar from eating a pan of those notorious fresh baked cinnamon rolls?

 

I took her for a walk and it was the first time she just went for a walk and didn't take a pizz, this was about 45 minutes before the storm.

How's 99 feeling, she looked a little pale in her last picture.

 

Lots of firewood down in some towns not far from us, it's a good thing buZZsaw BRAD doesn't live closer.

We lost a basswood tree off the hill in the back and a dead pine that was off the driveway from the storm yesterday. Hopefully I can check more of our property soon.

 

More shoulder season wood Zap. You were questioning if you had enough. That basswood might be ready in six months time. Fast drying stuff.

 

I've only used it for kindling but since it's on the bottom of the hill in the back, I plan on c/s/s it after I'm finished with the hardwood.

We have 12 face cord of pine up for our shoulder season wood (we usually burn 6 face cord per heating season) so I'll stack the basswood in another area.

 

Took the camera into the woods to get pics I promised.
That should keep me busy this summer and fall. The last pic shows the trunk I measured the circumference on and it was 57 inches. The tree in the background looks to be a bit larger.

Red Oak.

 

That's nice, we've only had red oak (from a scrounge) once.
