That's ridiculously high priced. I'm thinking of selling my ms170 for a bill.

The same reason people pay $280 for a Plitz Hot Saw 170 for $280 :)

After tax, a new MS 170 ($179.99) is just under $195.

So if you don't have a dealer near you (some people live hours away) then the time (hours), gas ($$$), make that extra $30-$50 over MSRP is worth it.

I thought about that aspect of it. But I would think that stihl may ship you a saw if you call and talk to a decent dealer?

If you can get that for about $200, that's a good deal. Over that, and not worth it. IMO.

That will fit the 661 you want, the 441, and your 362C-M. Although I wouldn't recommend it for the 362C-M. Some will disagree with me on that (West Coast ;)).

Stihl calls their 24" bar 25"??? It has the same DL count as a husky 24". Not sure why the 2 different sizes?

    Stihl sizes go ....18,20,25,28.....

No dealer that wants to keep selling Stihl equipment will ship anything other than maybe a t-shirt out the door. All business is to be done over the counter. Period. That includes parts. Of course that doesn't mean you can't get new Stihl stuff over the 'net but it's not from a dealer.
