There was a time that all Schwans food vehicles ran on propane. They actually paid to re develop a direct injection high pressure 8.1 and 7.4 engine for propane. Propane burns cleaner and cooler than gasoline but does not provide the same power and the fuel tank is a lot more space consuming for the same volume. Propane powered ICE is a real thing but not feasible. schwans has since abandoned that venture.

You’re probably quite familiar with moose landing marine not far from you in Naples, just the other side of that big lake in town. Yup, sales are sliding and they are bracing and cutting orders drastically. And they don’t get into electric powered boats!

Just curious what’s “ normal thinking “ and who decides that? Some will always have a different opinion than yours or mine and I would argue that’s a good thing .

Understatement. It's gonna be downright ugly.

The infrastructure isn't there to support wide use of EV's. Our local electric coop is advising its members to be prepared for rolling blackouts this summer. I doubt this is the only area expecting this. The hard push for EV's without the support needed doesn't make sense. I wonder if an EV could go 250 miles on one charge when the outside temps are between 95 and 100 and keep the driver and a passenger cool.

The reason I asked about you ever having served in the military is that once you take (and believe) in that oath, you instill in your very being the importance of freedom and the constitution....."you know....the thing". Anyone that infringes on any of those rights should be suspect. If I have to explain it any further, you just wouldn't understand, sorry.

I am indeed grateful for your grandfathers sacrifice as well as sorry. I as well have relatives that have given the ultimate sacrifice for the country as well as any given member on this forum or any walk of life. "Some gave all, all gave some" is the creed heard again and again amongst vets; fortunately, I am among those able to repeat that creed.

You must be a funny man making that comment about Henry Ford! BTW, I also knew a dearborn cop that used to visit with Henry Ford as he would take walks around his gated factories. That's pretty neat, huh? And if you knew anything about Mr. Ford, you would have known that he himself was very controlling (attempted) in the life of his employees and he was also very resistant to change. The model T (his first car) was produced for almost 20 years before he reluctantly decided to change it. There's something to think about, my friend.

I think the mods here are doing a very good job with their tolerance. There's other places out there if you are indeed upset with them and think they are acting hypocritical.

We just got a letter from our electric
co-op this week stating the very same thing. First time ever. You can't keep shutting down electric plants, refuse to allow new ones to be built AND force us into driving EVs plus all the other yard equipment. There isn't enough electricity now.

Normal thinking would be let people make their own decisions without having a vast minority of the population push agendas on them they do not want or agree with. But that kinda flew over your head.

WRONG!! Not a thing here!! In Australia they call propane gaz and gasoline Petrol. I was there in 1995 through 96. Melbourne Brisbane Sydney Perth Adelaide every gas station had in the cities sold gaz.

Every car over a value of $5,000 in city had switch. It was a DIY kit to add it and farm kids were adding it in parking lots at campus housing.

was not as available in country. Kind of like E85 here

every city bus and most of garbage trucks in Burlington run on natural gas. Not sure it is same formula as propane

I had a bud add propane injection to his diesel pickup. It increased the economy and added lots of power.
I don't know why someone in a vet would "toy" with a completely stock looking pickup on a 3 lane highway, but he got left in the rearview mirror.

I vote no on putting a propane tank in the trunk, that can’t be safe.

Jack propane is pretty lame compared to gasoline in the ball of fire scenario. Now hydrogen is something to ponder.

Lithium battery fires might be worse.
    They spontaneously combust.

Hey stop being so judgmental and name calling!
What if members, or mods, use like to keep track of where they are on thread or like every post so as not to hurt feelings.
I am a landlord of apartment buildings, I get paid to deal with adults acting like spoiled pre-schoolers. It is VERY annoying.
Our mods are unpaid volunteers, so let’s give them a break and act like adults. Thank you :handshake:

    Switching gears
Just one article about it. They are the same engine maybe messed with compression ratios some. Different injectors. Run liquid via high pressure fuel pump versus the old vapor system.
