Still pulling wood out of my oak hot spot. No apts after 9a today so with boss’s ok, I snuck out and got paid to hoard. Victim #1. Victim #2. #1 went text book. I video’d it but I hit time lapse. Counting Mingo dots (at 7” spacing), I got about 49' before the first crotch. Beyond that will go to my parents. #2 went well. Heavy leaner and I was able to go the direction of the lean. Didn’t get the purdy hinge because it started falling and I beat the feet. 35’ to first crotch.
Of course I had to find the rock. Not the first time up there. It’s very rocky. Oh well. My Plano chain box. One slot is for blunt chain. It’s working out better than my old method of the cardboard chain boxes. Squeezed the truck and trailer back to the logs. The heavies of the smaller tree I “rolled” or tumbled into the trailer. Big ones from the bigger tree I 1/2’d. Full load as far as I’m concerned. Left this for another day. Was on a rock or something. Tire was squished a little.
Wasn’t necessarily hot today but the humidity was killer. My staging area is still pretty full. Maybe I can change that this weekend.

I'm trying to strip as much bark as I can. There's still more.... 2-3 I will give all the wood to my parents. There's a dual leader that has been dead for a while. Tops are probably completely rotten. Then there are the 2 that are within reach of his house and garage. Might rope the one.
Those rounds on the top of the pile that were in the trailer, I regret not noodling. I'm guessing a couple were north of 125#. Cut to 21".

No. I'm only proficient in the conventional method. If any of these stumps are high enough, I planned to practice though.
Good skill to learn, helps save on barber chairs. I had to do a partial controlled drop the other day. I let it split, as soon as it moved, I was gone...
