I didn’t take any pictures, but as I was pretty sure would happen, am now shipping off my Huski 395 to get ported
You are the log terminator! Greg was cutting logs, halving big rounds with a maul, stacking rounds at the splitter and on the log lift. He kept the splitters busy until the club’s shed was full. Lots of folks participated, but Greg was a next level firewood machine. Is your saw going to Michigan?
I was referred to this guy from another cutting friend. I sent him 10 chains, paid for shipping out. He recently had to increase pricing due to prices of wheels he goes through etc. He now charges $10 per chain, in any length between 8 - 42" and pays for shipping back. He has 5 German made laser guided machines, and here is what I know. He soaks chains in parts cleaner, then dries to avoid rust, then sharpens (includes teeth, rakers and any needed deburring on drive teeth) then puts each one in its own bag, with name, size and pitch labeled. As I combine with friends on each shipment this helps me keep things straight. I will say I have sent and received back 40+ chains and every one cut as good as it did new out of the box. I hate sharpening chains, and for me I plan to continue using him. Local guys in my area are 8-9/chain and no where near as good a job. Razzorsharp, http://www.razzorsharp.com 7095 County Rd 15 Green Springs, Ohio 44836 Jeremy Cole, 740-244-6567, is the owner with his wife Kim To you guys that sharpen your own, I admire you. I stink at it, have no patience, and other than being too far from the truck and maybe touching one up, I'm going to continue sending em to this guy. Happy cutting.
Yes, going to try Kevin I think, contacting him later this week. 395 a heavy deal, so might as well get as much out of it as possible if you have the situation to need it.
Sorry I couldn’t make it Joe and Scotty. And thanks to whomever put a couple Sausaged up saws in Greg ’s hands.
Just curious what his turn around time is...how many days from when you ship out do you get them back?
I think he’s talking about Razzorsharp, a sharpening business in Ohio. While I do sharpen chains for folks, I don’t do nearly as many as this fella. He has a good system
Im sorry I missed the PA GTG. Hoping next year it'll be in the cards and someday Backwoods Savage gig too.
Yep...I lost track somewhere between beers 6 and 8!! Must have blown through the chain sharpening...Although I do have some chains I could send to Razzorsharp.
Just to close the loop, my buddy and I sent two Huski 395s to Kevin (sausage fingers) in Michigan for porting. And one tope handle Stihl. Just got em back, and my 395 runs great, and for sure throws more chips. Feels like a third more power to me. Tried it out on 29 inch diameter chestnut oak with 36inch bar. Hmmmm good. Thanks again for those recommending him, he was great to work with, and sent some great progress videos, tuning tips ones and shipped them back better than I shipped them to him.
Awesome, Kevin is a great dood, glad you got hooked up! Now post a video of you hand splitting wood...you are a one man wood processing machine!
Thanks! I normally roll them to the splitter like everyone else, but always like taking a few swings now and then.
