Was mowing grass this morning and came across a big green blob that was my apple tree… been a split base since I’ve lived here. Any the 500i and the X720 made quick work of it…. Got some good smoking wood now…

    Sad when an apple goes.

btw, it appears we won't have any apples this year even though they all blossomed nicely.

I was under the impression that apple trees only produce every 2 or 3 years. I know my deers will be mad, as I usually see them feeding off of it in the late evening or early morning...

I love cooking w/ apple wood. It's such a mellow smoke.

That stinks. I just bought 2 apple and a crabapple tree. My wife said those will be nice up on the bank to see?
I said the only way you going to see these is if you go up to the woods. These are to help future venison harvesting.

I thought she was going to :heidi:

Certainly not. Fruiting all depends on how late a frost is. Late frosts will kill the blossoms so no apples.

Barring a late frost I make apple cider every year.
