You may find this hard to believe but I probably haven't been short more than $20 total in the year I've had the stand. Typically there is always SOME money. I attribute that to people that can't do math or maybe are just a little short. I actually was short $20 one week last month. The following week I was over $20 based on what I sold so I have to assume that the person made it right. It isn't a perfect system but it's worked out remarkably well. I also have signs and a camera. Perhaps that encourages honesty.

mom interested to hear how that bed unloaded works out. I planned to grab one last summer when I was adding some landscaping rock but ended up finding a friend with a dump trailer instead
But I’ve thought that unloaded could be very handy for firewood and many things. Post some pics when you get to using it.

 

Fair enough! Joe from Ohio Woodburner on YouTube loves his. Chris from In the Woodyard tossed his in the trash. Reviews are obviously mixed. All I know is at 53, I have no desire to crawl in and out of the bed of the truck several times during a delivery. And this was way cheaper than a dump trailer. We'll see what happens!

 

The easy unloaders work great. Just don’t fill in the spaces in front of or behind the wheel Wells and if you do, unload that part by hand

 

Wow you have been busy. Yeah it can be tough keeping a constant supply of dry wood for year round sales. Have you tried looking on CL/FBM for free wood...rounds that are many months old? Couple scores i got like that i split right away, bark came off and wood will be ready for Winter...bulk cordage.

Too bad about the skidsteer. Big labor saver for sure, but were hoarders. We adapt and overcome.

I used to look for free wood but I gave up on that when I have wood being dropped off by tree services on a regular basis. Most of what I've seen is green (which I have plenty of). So I'll sell what I have and all will be good. That being said, if I see something I can't pass up, I'll be all over it.

l'll try to snag it at least for a weekend and get some orders out. That would be a big time saver.

 

Still no skid steer so I'm restructuring the work flow. Now my splitter won't start so things have come to a standstill. I'll get it figured out.

Life is inconvenient in that I've been pretty spoiled for several months. But I'm back to cutting and splitting, rebuilding the inventory. I got a good start over the weekend so it's all good.

 

I tried out a new setup for splitting Sunday evening. Without access to the skid steer at the moment, I'm processing right on the driveway. I purchased a 10x10 pop-up canopy and set up a fan running off a rechargeable power bank. Works really well.

I load splits into the back of the Gator CX and pull forward to where I stage wood for the roadside stand. Unload into IBC totes, back up and repeat. It took 4 trips to fill a tote.

Thank you kindly! You know us northern folk don't like the heat. We tend to melt above 85. I'm glad I found your pics of fans! I have bigger ones to use when I have electricity available. I don't really like the extra wood handling with the current setup but it's a minor inconvenience.

 

Courtesy of a handy app on my phone I see that my father-in-law brought the skid steer back to my place. I'll use it tonight to stage some IBC totes to load for a delivery going out tomorrow and then to move wood chips. I've accumulated 4 piles and they're in the way of the cutting I plan to do in the morning. Things are about to get organized again. All of that will happen after I do some cutting at a MP score. Looks like maple from the pics. That will mix likely with the walnut I've been splitting. I'll try to do some of that tonight to get the truck unloaded.

 

Also picked up my second Husky 576XP during lunch. I won it in an eBay auction. Turns out the guy was fairly close and working just outside my town. Chain could use a sharpening but looks pretty good overall. I my hit it with the file and try it out in the morning. The idea is to have 2 pro saws fueled with sharp chains ready to go when I'm cutting. By the time I run through both tanks I'm probably done and ready for a break. I try to work efficiently.
