    Fidium vs Consolidated Communications fiber internet in NH

    We've had CC's fiber since last July. Price is supposed to go up this July from $70/mo to $95/mo as the 1st year rate ends. That's for the 1Gig service, 250mb is only $10/mo less.

    I went on to Fidium's site, put in our address and it said we're good to get Fidium. No message about already having CC fiber at that address, so it would seem they are separate or at least they don't share info. Fidium is a subsidiary of CC .

    I would take it that the same cable on the poles is being used by both as I never saw a 2nd line being strung in town so if we were to switch from CC to Fidium in July when our 1st year is up with CC (if CC goes up to $95/mo from the $70 will see if they offer any incentive to stay) it "would seem to be" just be a matter of swapping out CC's ONT box & modem/router for Fidium's and they switch it over on their ends. And Fidium offers a $5/mo discount if using paperless billing (which we use with CC but no discount for it).

    Will have to try calling Fidium and seeing what I get for answers. Potential savings of $360 over the year. That's a pallet of Vermont pellets.
