I split and stacked most of the soft maple today and then grabbed a load of wood that was on the pallet since last fall. I hadn't split any kindling in a while an we didn't have enough for this winter so I took care of that, it should be around a face cord that should last us three or four years.
Making some progress getting the old truck emptied out. It’s only been on there for a year. This was yesterday’s This was today This was the last round of the day today And what is left
This was some of the toughest work I've done this year, tonight I downed Backwoods Savage 's slice and tomorrow yooperdave 's slice will see some gut action.
That is some serious BTU'S. Looks very n So sorry you are struggling with such hard work... We hate this tough stretch for ya...
Some nice firewood there JB. Nice that that hedge has an unlimited expiration date. How fast does it loose its bark when cut green?
Looked outside this morning and saw an elm branch had come down behind the house. Not much wood there but I will get it cut up.
I'm pretty sure this came down late last fall, once the last stack is finished we'll have just under 12 face cord of pine up for shoulder season wood. 10 face will be ready for this coming heating season.
I put the trail camera up thinking that the fox or yote would come back to the area all the feathers were but no luck so the pine in the picture that came down last year will get taken care of before the end of June.
We've had a fox running around near the house so I was hoping the trail cam might pick the fox up coming through the area. Not pictured is a hole in the hill in the back, it looks like a den for something. I'll get the trail cam up again on what I think is a den.
Just some wind damaged pine from last fall, I worked on getting the pine c/s/s that was in the area we call the sandpit, around on the other side I s/s some rounds I bucked up last fall. I still have two logs on the ground and the trunk that needs c/s/s, that will fill up our shoulder season stacking area with just under 12 face cord.
Yes it is T.Jeff Veal , I just finished s/s the last stack which gives us just under twelve face cord. That should be a two year supply but since we have a bunch of it down, I plan on c/s/piling a bunch more after I'm done stacking our maple and beech.
Our shoulder season wood areas are both full so that is nice after only having five face cord ready last year, just a touch under twelve face are stacked. Pictures 3098 through 3100 are from the area near the sandpit that mother nature brought down a pine last fall, 3101 is some splitting I did in another area today that filled out the last stack, picture 3102. I'll be back stacking some hardwood soon, maple and then some beech.
