I had an interesting run in today.

99 wanted me to bring some JIF peanut butter back and while I was returning it, a guy in line behind me starts talking to me.

He had noticed my cap....from one of my ships and proudly announced that he also was in the Navy. He was wearing a Viet Nam Veteran cap.

Now get this......he says he was in during the late 80's to early 90's! I did a deliberate look up to read his cap once again, yup, Viet Nam Veteran!

    :headbang:

He asked when I was in. All I said was the 70's and then turned around. :picard:

Kinda like the guy I saw a few years back wearing a WWII Veteran cap. Only thing is, he looked no older than me!

I turned a 100' roll of concrete rewire into 18 tomato cages tonight. I'm tired of tiring them up to stakes and the store bought ones are JUNK. These should last a good while.

My thumbs, on the other hand, may fall off after twisting all that wire.

Generally you need to go outside the house to find them...except when trying to sleep.

Some lumber prices are finally going back down a bit. Good. A 1x4x8 is still however only cents cheaper than a 2x4x8.....

Yeah, I think it's worth the time to rip a 2x4 in half.

I have a bunch of those for Celebrity tomatoes. The rust is awful the first year but develope a patina over the first Winter and are fine after that. Mine are at least 5 years old.

The mosquitoes used to be awful here. The last few years we had two droughts and three years of gypsy moth stripped forest so the skeets had almost no place to hide/multiply . Back to using a DEET spray of some sort to go outside.

Great weather here today. Cool enough this morning to cut some wood. Not sure how much is there but probably close to a cord.

Crappy rainy weather all day long here. Didn't get a chance to touch the log pile before it started. I figure that it would have been done tomorrow if I had the chance to cut today but.........:headbang::headbang::headbang:

    Maybe tomorrow :handshake:

A bit sore this am after helping a friend start to take down a walnut tree yesterday. Back at it today. Not looking forward to mid 80's heat. Then the next three days are slated for over 90. :dennis:
