Loon, that pasture is so serene. Those deer are too tame. It won't serve them to be so inquisitive once hunting season opens. Getting deer shouldn't be as easy as picking apples.
You did good getting those two trees down. I've never messed with elm. I'm told it is very hard to split. No clue how it is to burn.
Not many left around here. Dutch elm disease gets them all by the time they are young trees. My daughter has a few dead ones standing. None of them more than 6 inches in diameter.
How you made up your mind how to take down that big limb that overhangs your home? That would be one to set the camera on movie mode.

Had to go into work this morning WS and was sure glad to get back home for the day we had. ;)

Been dealing with dead elm for years here save and your right it can be a pain to split but is a great burning wood. Those small trees at your daughters house would be great in the stove this winter and suggest you try em out.

Everytime i am out back i have a look up at that limb :hair: :D The camera will be there when i figure out how it will come down? and hoping i dont wait too long to make up my little mind :dancer:

My son is going after that dead elm. I can't walk on uneven ground yet. Looks like next year for me so long as I don't fall and break something again. Twice down the stairs an once on ice on the landing on the front steps.

Terry it is nice to have the tractor when it is needed. Along pasture or other fields quite often it is needed because the trees tend to not want to grow straight there. As for the elm, that should be ideal burning wood.

That first one Dennis ended up being quite balanced out on top. So ended up giving it a high push with the Case and everything was fine. ;) The second one got hung up a bit which i wasnt expecting but it landed nicely in the field.
Pretty hot out right now but all i am gonna do is drag the rest over here after lunch.
