I’ve spent a lot of time in northern New Brunswick, northern Quebec, northern Saskatchewan, and Labrador. Gas ain’t the only thing expensive. I know some people who travel to Walmart twice a year and spend several thousand each trip.

The only good thing is that we have our own refinery in Saint John

My husbands business is similar, already hurting the books, and at some point buyers will just say no with companies passing the price of gas on.

Historically the Bait Industry has done good in a bad economy. They always have money for a box of worms and a six pack of beer.
We are always competing for people's time and money.

Meanwhile, here in the Wichita area of Kansas (where I am visiting), they haven't reached $4 yet. That's what being in the middle of gas country will do for you.

Lobstermen here are paying over $100 a tray for bait. Normally under $50. Average guy running 300-400 traps will go through 6 trays easy a day. Add in diesel and low market prices a lot of boats are parked.

I may have gotten home faster and maybe spent less - I had to hire a driver to get me from Boston back to Manchester airport after my 3rd leg coming out of DC got cancelled. Dang near thought I would have to start walking as there were no flights with seats to Manch until Wednesday. 18 hours at one airport isn't nearly as fun as it sounds . . .

It'll be <interesting> what this year's crops price out at in July/Aug/Sep. I'm hoping there are no widespread crop failures. Anywhere around the globe as well.

Give me a few months and I will only have the bill to pay for my solar panels which should be up and running by mid to late July. No more crazy electric bills for me. Between that and my OWB, I can happily give 2 middle fingers to the man.
