Great looking rounds that will keep for a year or 5. If you get them chunked up, all the better!

I went to my SIL's to break down the big oak rounds with hydros.

My stamina, using mostly one arm, is way below what I'm expecting. It'll come back with time.

With smaller chunks, we'll split to stove size and toss into my buddy's PU. Maybe this weeked.
    IMG_20220510_094829.jpg

Remaining to be busted up. We didn't want to break anything, including ourselves.
    IMG_20220510_094853.jpg

More to be pulled up to be processed

    Another chapter in this harvest.

We started at 8am and I was showering, then icing my shoulder by noon. Too hot/humid for afternoon work.

My BIL running the splitter on the right. Splitter owner on the left
    IMG_20220514_084617.jpg

My BIL would feed the splitter and I would remove splits and toss into a pile.

My buddy showed up after the splitting was done. We moved 2.5 PU loads back to my place.

    IMG_20220514_102059.jpg

I'm guessing just under a cord. I'll know later this week when I get to stack it.
    IMG_20220514_124727.jpg

Water, ibuprofen, and my recliner will be my activity for a bit.

Nice mound of splits! Did you get to use the splitter at all?

Nice cool, dry air this morning, so I spent time scraping and leveling a couple of racks. Blocks at each end. More to the right, due to land slope. And blocks mid-span.

    IMG_20220517_091621.jpg

Those are gifted racks from a number of years ago. They are in need of some structural maintenance. I had the rope, so they'll be fine for the next 3yrs.

My stamina is still not where I'd like for it to be. I know not to over do it. I hope to have all the remaining splits moved and stacked tomorrow.

Aside from a number of splits that I tossed aside because they were too big, the pile is now moved and stacked.

Nice work, and good job taking it easy on your arm. That’s not always so easy to do.

I had to cancel my June trip back home to Mass. today. Bummed. Haven’t been back since COVID started. Such a great time of year.

Say what??? What means "done hoarding"?

I still have one empty rack, one rack needing to be replaced, and due to rack management efforts, room for one more.

There's still logs at my SIL's to be processed and brought here.

I'm in no rush. Good thing, eh? :pain:

I'll continue to do what I can. Being fully on the 3yr plan is nice, with no sense of urgency, knowing I have 2yrs+ of wood.

I hear ya. Have t done any real processing since Oct 2020. Sometimes life gets in the way. It’s a good thing I went after it hard in 2019. Still have a nice three year buffer. It pays to be ahead.

I re-evaluated our needs, topped off the three year plan with a couple cords, and that was it for me. Then my friend informed me he was leaving for the south, and gave me all his css oak and ash. That was three cord into year 4.
Ive got rounds in the woods to grab for a friend.
After that, im kinda done hoarding for the year.
But those are famous last words here.
There is one big tree trunk I could grab for us, a tree job I might get wood from if/when the guy gets it done...

There are other things I need to focus on.
But I'm never really 'done' hoarding.
If something comes up, ill be on it.
I won't turn down a cord or two more against the fourth year (another three cord and We'll have four years on hand)!

I got back to my SIL's this morning. Continuing to nibble away at the fallen red oak.

I have a Husky 351 that M2theB let me borrow. It's new to him and was looking for it to be used and report back. It did just fine on these logs. At 16", I needed to roll the logs to finish each cut.

I'm getting strength back in my hand, over time. I had difficulty holding the saw down while pull starting last weekend. I have barely any issue starting the saw today. There were multiple stops/starts with zero issues with the saw.

It felt good to get some trigger time! Aside from lifting any heavy weight, I'm able to accomplish most any task, do long as it's below shoulder height.

I got the gifted 350 back a few weeks ago. I actually got to use it today at my SIL's.

The 350 has an 18" bar. Longest in my collection. Not much of a collection, eh?

After sitting for a few weeks, it started on the 2nd pull. There were several hot restarts, and it fired right up each time. :dex:
