I have been buying extra beer for months and have a pretty good cushion built up. In the last couple weeks I've started buying twice as much extra. With the diesel shortage since beer comes on trucks you can't be too prepared.

For years I couldn’t buy that in Connecticut. At this point I don’t remember why either. Then the day came when it was finally “imported” here. Everybody went buck wild clearing the shelves to get a taste of this other-worldly, once-forbidden nectar. Kind of like when Krispy Kreme doughnuts opened up in CT. I remember being disappointed on both occasions. Still, Yuengling is better than Keystone Light and Krispy Kreme is better than prepackaged doughnuts from 7/11. The fact that the Yuengling is still on the shelf means times haven’t gotten THAT tough (yet)….

Yup, wife is from PA when that stuff wasn’t available here people would ask us to bring them back some when we went down. Her grandfather started at the brewery in Pottstown as a teen and ended up a brewmaster. He passed long before we got together. Her grandmother said the beer was weasel pizz! Lol. I’m no stranger to cheap beer but I agree with the old lady.

I think yeungling is pretty good! I mean it's not as super refreshing as that rocky mountain water they put in them silver cans, or that headache potion in the red and white can. But it's better than the cases upon cases of beast, southpaw and natty that we drank in college. :hair:

Oh that poor last pack of yuengling! Must be a shorter stature of folks patroning that store and they can't see it up on that top shelf!

No 1G bar oil at TSC last week....only quarts @ $5.4x each.
Kinda whatever we get that won't rot, we should think of getting one extra for the storm shelf. I can't bring myself to buy bar oil at those prices, but maybe I should keep my eyes open and buy a G or two, even at these prices

I just discovered that the dewalt 18v rechargeable batteries, can come apart, and I think I can find the individual batteries (6 inside perhaps) and replace those 6 cells.

I've had people asking if we are still making pasta because even at Wally world's the pasta aisle is only about 1/2 full. We are going wide open making nearly 1,000,000 pounds a day. What scares me though is the reports that Kansas wheat is suffering in drought and here in Dakotah Territory it is so wet we haven't turned a tire. If there isn't a crop this year after a poor one last year, ain't a single thing going to be cheap to eat. Just heard corn is going over $8.

Something is definitely wrong with the store. There have been supply issues but nothing that would explain completely barren shelves.

You can get that in NH now a days? I'm pretty sure Yuengling provided half my calorie intake during my 20's.

I agree...something smells funny here. We never had all these "supply chain capacity" issues before, even when things were booming and demand was very high for many things. One that caught my attention the other day was when they said that gas prices will rise even more because plants that normally make gasoline are going to be making diesel fuel to help with the "shortage"...hmm...is there a plant that is "down" somewhere? That always seems to spike prices a bit when one goes down for maintenance or something every summer, but not usually to the point of having shortages.
They come up with excuses for all this stuff, but after a while you have to stand back and look at the overall picture of what's happening around you...and when I do, it makes me very suspicious.
It's not so much any one thing in and of itself, but add it all and hmmm...and I ain't buyin that this is all still a backlog from the shutdown...some things may be, but food items and fuel/oil products (just for example) tend to be used soon after being made, so how could there be a backlog there?
