No machete wielding, hockey mask wearing psycho, just a crazy guy with a chainsaw! Right next door to my cedar score from FBM ive been working since last month. I spied the nice pile of logs since day one and inquired about them of course. He was keeping. Last week while loading there i get the okay to take what i want. More work than he wanted to do. I checked out the pile. Less than two months old from some trees he had tree service take down. Elm...YUCK, sycamore...double YUCK, YUCK! Some nice big straight grained tulip (yellow) poplar. I need some nice shoulder season wood. Some small red and sugar maple...ill take those too. Drive right up next to it. OKed by both neighbors. The pile was neatened up by a guy on a mini excavator installing invisible dog fence the other day. Only had a few minutes to work it as i had already cut some from next door. Guessing three truckloads of the stuff i want. May "donate" the elm to a fellow hoarder. Probably cutting a load tomorrow.

Cut more here late this afternoon. Turns out the tulip poplar is cottonwood...oops! Did get some nice red maple though. Stack from yesterday and today waiting for the hydro. A few scattered logs worth going back for. The neighbor is taking down another tree soon (black birch) so ill make another trip. Less than five minutes from home.
