AC has made an occasional appearance here. Sometimes just to dry out the house if the humidity was crazy.

Surgery on my knee Wednesday. Arthroscopic on a torn meniscus. Doc called to ask how I was doing today and I told him I was hurting and that I hate taking the pain meds. He gave me some suggestions and then said he tested positive for covid this morning. Great.

I believe the statement is by percentage of population, not by actual numbers of people. And it depends on what website you look at as to who is actually #1 by percentage. Some say Florida, Some say Maine. They aren't separated by much anyway.

Interestingly Maine, Vermont and NH are in the top 8 of % of population over 65. The upper northeast state are among the fastest aging populations.

Hit 82* here yesterday. House got up to 77 (I had the mini split on that morning as it was 37 outside). Morning temp has only gotten down to 55, so the house hasn't cooled off much and is at 74*. I'm debating opening windows this morning - feels pretty humid out there and with the indoors being at 46% (which to me feels on the humid side already) I'm debating whether it will be better to have AC or humidifier going on later.

Yea, 1st world and WFH problems

We have no plans of moving from here, but if we did a last post retirement move, it would be farther north, not south.

Sat outside with a coffee this mornig doing some bird watching, The nest boxes by the house are busy with the bluebirds, sparrows and house wrens. The 2 other boxes we have in the field for the swallows. Looks like all but 1 by the house is full. We will have babies to watch later this spring!! :D

I often felt that way, but I love the ocean, and our summers are hard to beat. Winters are for the young, but when retired, you don't have to go out unless you want to so we get to wait for good days. I don't move snow, cut grass or climb ladders now. I have that all covered. I don't travel much at all. Somehow, I have myself convinced that I don't want to go anywhere.
The big thing is that being this far north keeps a lot of undesirable elements away for any number of reasons.
