95-98% of my custimers are pro cutters, they run 8-10 hours a day 5-6 days as week. The majority of them have multiple saws, as pointed out above. They want the most powerful saw possible but not at the risk of reliability.

Unlike myself, if one of my saws is down a couple of days while I repair it, no big deal but for them it means that they make less money and incurr extra cost. Most have 3-5 saws, two for in the tree, 2 for ground cutting and 1 for stumps.

I can see the tree guys not wanting to risk it. The fallers that are paid by the bd ft and only work 6-6.5 hours a day are making more money with them.

I won't mill anything wider than about 16" with a 70cc saw. After that I go to 90çc and for a 36" bar I go 120cc. It just lumbers along barely working with a 7 pin.

The 2171 is one I wish I'd bought. I would have set it up just like you have.

You know the benefit of listing our saws in our sig... Young on AS saw it in my sig line and offered me basically a brand new full wrap for it for $40 shipped. And the deal came to me.:dancer: Really worked out quite nicely.

I wish mine could too, but I become attached to certain models after watching them on my watch list and finally scoring them... it's hard to cut em loose. Unless it's a Stihl, not knocking them..... but I have a terrible time getting attached to them little buggers.

I seem to be able to sell any of them. I sold 4 288s last year and I'm up to 5 or 6 394/5s now. I've had 5 or so 066/660s that are all gone.

Sorry guys I am in Victor Idaho and got caught up with the travel and recovering from O'hare.

I appreciate the input, I am going to send one of these off and probably sell the other eventually to fund the acquisition of another saw. I am leaning towards the 372 because it is newer in effect since it sat for years. That is a good point you made @DexterDay, although the 440 still has 160 comp. and runs flawlessly. I checked it the other day, it is a 2003-4 and I am the third owner.

I will be trout fishing via backpack in the high country the next couple days.

The 440 all cleaned up would probably bring some good $$ right now....
