I just got back from lower Michigan and saw this tree that had shed its bark and had a very smooth surface in place of it. It is a grey color for the most part and had been shedding it's bark for quite some time as there was no evidence of debris beneath the tree form the original bark. Is it a sycamore? Thanks!
Looks like a Sycamore to me also. I just planted one in the corner of the yard the other day with a couple of the grand daughters. I have heard but can’t confirm that Molted Elm looks similar. Sycamore leaves are a give away some of them I have seen are the size of dinner plates.
Man....I bet their mother is mad at you! How deep do you plant grand daughters? Ankle deep I suppose....
Sycamore, a tree that usually grows in bottoms or wet areas. Some people call it the ghost tree cause of that white bark that shows as it gets older.
Of course it is! Thanks! Eric and his acronyms....always one step ahead of the pack....alpha dog....that's why he's a moderator and we're the moderated!
No. I actually picked that up here, when I used to be one thems moderated. Come to think of it, I still feels moderated, sometimes.
