Weather is gonna be nice today....We shut the big stove down about noon yesterday.
Sunny weather and the house was nearing 75F TOO HOT

Stoves off until about 10:30 last night and the temp had dropped to about 69F
Fired up the little stove (One in my Avatar) and it is on this morning..

The day is supposed to reach mid 60's F ...Then back to cool and showery weather....

We have plowed through all of the shells from the last run of the season now.

Still plenty of shells in storage though.....
Usually by this time we are only running the little stove....and then on and off some days.

Strange year......Snow on the ground in spring.....Whoa....never seen that before......

Time to get some repairs done on the vehicles
The Astro van needs the front brake calipers replaced...Just old and crudded up....After replacing the pads a couple weeks go it was fine...then started pulling to the left under light pedal pressure.
I picked up a set of fresh calipers....been waiting for weather that was conducive to getting down on the ground and wrenching....

The Avalanche is needing an evap solenoid replaced...
I got a factory Delco replacement off Ebay for a great price...New in box.

Another job requiring crawling under the rig.....Arrrrg

Not a tough job....Just ahead of the spare tire.....
One electrical plug, cut a couple zip ties and unhook the vent hose.....
Slide in the new part....hook it up, plug it in and zip tie the vent line back up by the fuel filler hose.....

And get filthy dirty while doing it......

Charcoal canisters and the related parts used to be up in the engine bay....easy to get to....

Now they seem to love placing this stuff where you have to get filthy and need to get the rig up in the air.

A hoist would make this job waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier....Walk right up and do it....

    Ah well.

And then the Suburban....The heater fan needs to be replaced...and the resistor assembly.

Motor make a lot of squealing noises off and on and only runs on high speed.
The Left front wheel bearing needs to be replaced as the ABS sensor is FUBAR and the ABS lamp is on.
The old Burb is the Go getum shells rig....THE MULE....2500 4X4 WITH THE 454 EATUMGASMUCHLY ......But gets the job done right handily.

During Snow events the old Mule is usually are go to rig.....

Ah yess...the joys of owning old vehicles.....

Try Stove Top stuffing mix instead of bread crumbs. Makes a big difference.

Then of course add in all the extra goodness for flavor- A-1 steak sauce, chunks of sharp cheddar cheese, mushrooms, onions etc. Like making an Italian gravy (known as spaghetti meat sauce for many) the more you put in it the better it is.

Weather was lovely yesterday ....I got the front Brakes on the Van all fixed.....
Working better than they ever have....
And we even had time to hit a garage sale....
Scored a Makita 4" mini grinder for $10......At Home depot they are $54

Handy tool....I have a 5" Dewalt grinder and it is soooooo handy.

Be nice to be able to have different wheels on each one when working.....

So next on the hit list is to get the Avy fixed.....

Sorry to be late to reply. I do indeed plan to feed the hummers. I've got to bleach them out first. I am thinking I would like to get some new ones. I am partial to the glass ones Hard to know if the plastic ones have any toxins in them that can leech out into the water. I didn't feed the birds this winter. My son has been giving me hell about the vermin the bird feeder attracts. So few things I can enjoy. Bird feeding was one of them. I loved watching the birds. I might dig my heels in and do it anyway. Just hate all the negative comments I get when I do.

Tell son to kiss off on feeding the birds. Buy some traps, see how many and what is in the area, oh and he gets to tend them. I see tree rats in the winter.

Time for meds and a nap. My supper is thawing I hope. moved about 30 quilts and tons of clothes this morning and the bedroom still is full of quilts.

That is what I get for feeding her habits.

No other words of wisdom to spice up his "meh" meatloaf?

I know my recipe comes out great, but you have smoked fatties that looked awesome!

I agree Larry. I think you can politely let him know you respect his opinion ... while you are hanging up the bird feeders.
