Yeah it does. I was talking with a friend last night about how he should get a trailer instead of loading his car with wood. He said he wanted 4 foot sides on whatever trailer he got so he could fill it. I told him one layer of wood is plenty for any single axle trailer. He didn't believe me until I showed him the math. He also didn't think he was putting 1000 lbs in his car...
Didn't pick up a load of wood this weekend. I got this... It's a 4x4x6 explosive storage magazine with skids, attached to a trailer. I have a buddy that does explosives work and could use a magazine. My youngest wants to sell eggs out of it. EGGSPLOSIVES I want to build a tandem axle trailer for it. That single axle tows straight but hits hard when it finds a pothole or bridge gap.
So, showrguy , how'd you like that MS361 you were using? I just realized I'd recently put an 8-pin sprocket on it. I haven't gotten a chance to run it with that sprocket yet.
That saw runs REAL NICE … Even though it did’nt have any builders stickers on it, I knew it spent some time on someone’s operating table.. That chain was spot on as well,,, I tried to keep it outa any dirt.. I run 8 pins on all my ported saws also (except the 261), I’d rather have the chain speed with a rather aggressive chain, and let the saw do the work..
I’ve considered it many times. Where I’m at right now in this honey hole, I can’t even get my 4x8. A price I’m willing to pay to be able to back right up to the wood.
It's an 03 Tundra w/ a 4.7 V8. It's paid for itself many times over. This is one of my favorite pics of it loaded. I got called into work so I'll probably get one more load after. Weather is perfect for firewood'n today. 52 degrees.
Sharp looking truck. We have an 06 rav4. We use it to plow snow, daily driver, pulling small trailers, fishing boats, etc... How is the v8 on gas and maintenance?
17 commuting, 20 highway. It has 199,350 and it consumes no oil. It's been crazy reliable. I've been hauling some serious loads since '10 when I got it. Airbags help but these last 2 I only had about 25lbs in them. I was hittin bump stops a couple times. The load on your F two fiddy is . It would probably buckle my frame.
That's pretty good mileage for a v8. I get about the same after swapping to a 4.10 rear. It was 20-25 with the 3.55, but the gears were too tall with the mazda 5 speed. I have been looking at newer trucks, but like you said, the frames leave something to be desired. I have had 9k on this ford before the upgrades, but not on purpose. It was sitting pretty low that day. I put a 3 ton rear end in it and 6k springs and it's a world of difference. I can stack it to the sky and it doesnt care. The ride is a bit rough when empty, but not horrible. I have a zf tranny to put in it, along with a transfer case for a total of 10 gears for pulling those heavy loads. 60:1 down low and a .76:1 overdrive. People say you cant range shift when moving, but its just a matter of knowing how. I just have to get it installed. 3 loads like you have would wear me out too. I do one load and take a nap.
