We finally made some bunny burgers-- about 3 lbs of rabbit meat chopped in the food processor for about 30 seconds (two meat grinders couldn't do the job) and mixed with 1 lbs sausage, some seasoning and binders. Cooked them over Dad's fire pit grill--man were they good!
I see 6 of them. I call the one on the bottom right corner.... and Grizz, if we should ever meet at a GTG, I'd love to taste your grill food
Grizz, being that rabbit is a naturally lean meat, do you add olive oil or any rendered fat to the burger mixture?
Domestic. Going to have a big one to grind up soon, second little and she's trying to kill the babies again.
Bacon would probably good in them in the place of sausage. I use it in deer burgers and man is it good.
So why couldn't you grind it? I grind chuck, beef, 30 lbs at a time in a cabellas meat grinder ever since the pink slime fiasco. Are you saying that rabbit meat won't work in a grinder? I've never tried rabbit meat and it would be cool to sneak it in on the family.
I'm not sure, it just kept plugging. Maybe too much silver skin or too many tendons in the mix? The food processed worked great though, and mom just gave me that one since she got a new one.
