So.....I was on my way to my car from mom's house yesterday morning. Had my two arms full, so I laid my lunch bag (which, to my knowledge, contained my camera) on the roof to open the door. Laid the other items inside, got distracted for a minute because mom wanted to borrow a lighter. Didn't have one in the car....long story short, I had a stupid brain freeze monent and ended up driving off with my lunch bag left on the roof and didn't realize it till I was halfway to work. I called mom and asked her to go look, and turned around. Found my bag upright on the sidewalk at the mouth of the parking lot, I could be wrong but I don't think it could have landed that far from the car. Figuring someone probably moved it. Sure enough, my lunch was still inside along with the few other non-valuables. No camera.

so I guess my camera is gone, and it was a good expensive one. [IMG]
I know for a fact I didn't leave it home, and I've looked everywhere I can think of in mom's house and the car in case I did put it elsewhere and forgot.

Usually something stuck. Like you've dropped something on the keyboard. Turn it upside down, say a couple juicy cuss words and tap it on the desk a couple times. Sometimes that is all it takes. Pa Kettle knew this and fixed many things like that.  (Maybe some never watched the old Ma ns Pa Kettle shows.)

I basically did the same thing with my 455 years back, kind of a good thing, forced me to buy a 372.

Oh that is too bad. Worst part is that you are going to replay what you did in your mind over and over again.

I ended up popping the keys off, even a pencil eraser pushing on the buttons did not work. It must have been dropped or something after I went to bed? I dug one up out of storage I bought on lightning sale last Christmas. I keep one on hand now, a few years ago I spilled on one and our only store, wally world did not have any in stock for a couple days. This one has a lighted background and is water resistant. We'll see about the soda cracker crumbs, which will inevitably happen at some point :)

First time this dog has seen fire. He barked at it and ran circles. It was entertaining.

Sometimes even the canned air you can get at office supply stores works wonders.

I also run the opened end of a paper clip around each key in an attempt to dislodge something. Good thing is that key boards are cheap. I always have new ones put away for emergencies.

Do you have a cell phone with a camera in it? I use my cell phone for my pictures. I have a Canon I bought, but seldom use it now I have every intention of getting to use it but the cell phone camera is so handy and takes excellent pictures.

New mower had zero gear oil in it when I bought it so I knew it had a bad seal. Top was clean so I figured it was the output shaft seal. Got to looking at it last night and confirmed.

Spent the better part of the morning getting the stump jumper off the output shaft. Heat it. Beat it. Heat it. Beat it. For about 2 hours. Finally popped off.

Found an output shaft seal local and will get it picked up and installed.

I had to lock a door today:eek:, The wind blew hard enough that the exterior door in the master bedroom blew open twice. So I dead bolted it, cured the problem.

It’s only funny because I don’t lock my house. Come to think of it I don’t know where the keys are:whistle:Come to think of it I don’t know where the keys are!

It has been that way here for years, but things do change. My new dog has learned how to open the door so now I have to lock it to protect him from being outside unsupervised. Plus I don't want him letting the cats out. All our doors have those new handy capped door levers. Doesn't take a dog very long to figure them out.

unfortunately I don't have money for "better", but I picked up a smaller one for 40 bucks used. I think it cost several times that new, pretty fancy for what it is. It's pocket sized, but that's better than carry bag sized in many ways. That's all I used for years before I was given the big one, (which kind of makes me feel worse about losing it than if I'd bought it), never had any complaints.

it takes pictures, but not good ones. Good enough for capturing a memory or if you need to show someone something, but not photography hobby quality. But yes, there are many phones now with cameras that rival cameras, so to speak.

Also I can take the card out of a camera and put it in my tablet to transfer pictures, but I have no cord with the right ends to do that with my phone. If I do want to transfer pictures from my phone, I have to borrow a computer to transfer them to that, then to my tablet. Sometimes I miss having a laptop because of stuff like that.

kind of, but I've fairly satisfied myself that it's gone. If I do find it by some chance, great....if not, guess it's no use to dwell on it.

thanks.... I could curse myself upside down, but it won't fix anything. Dad had a similar moment years ago, brought 2 rods to go trouting, laid one down, walked around the pond trying different spots, ended up forgetting the other one. Was dark when he got home and realized. When he did go back....it was gone.

The storm door to my front door is always locked (dead bolt) as the wind will rip it right out as the winds from the north or south will ease thru and eventually take it out. been here 8.5 years and am on my 3rd door (including the original). The last door I had put on the opposite way, which is a bit better. I don't use my front door anyway.

I do lock my other doors at night, but don't know where the keys are since I have electronic locks that I just push the buttons for unlocking. I actually worry more about the bear learning to open the back door (lever handles) or the cats accidentally opening them as they stand on the handle to get a better look at the birds.

Got the mower put back together last night. Runs smooth as butter now. The old one's gearbox was so cooked and the PTO shaft was so bent it about shook itself apart every time I used it.

Busy weekend is about to start in a couple hours.
