Sorry to hear about your thumb, Brad. Dang splitters. Maybe pass on the gnarly bits? I've gotten fussier in my old age. Leave them for the ants. Hope you heal up quick.

Thanks Molly. Great to see you again. You still hoarding? The car hoarding thread is getting kinda rusty.
Miss seeing your little scrounges from the dump.

I am picky for the most part, but still some with knots. I left the worst at the score. Shouldve left it for noodling, but hindsight is always 20/20!

Hey buZZsaw BRAD hope the thumb has stopped throbbing by now. I guess hand nailing roofing is still out of question for a while.:startled:
Been trying to think of a suitable get well gift for the thumb impaired. I have a friend who had a broken jaw that had to be wired shut. I sent him a get well fruit basket!:D

OUCH for sure. That split was hungry and took a bite out of that thumb. Hope it is healing and glad it was just the end.

Yeah it has. Now and then it still does. Keep it elevated or try to as if in a sling. Not too bad now. When i accidently bump it i get reminded! Thanks for asking. :handshake:

My father broke his jaw years back when i was a kid. He looked like the jaws guy from the James Bond movies. He had special scissors to cut it in case he had to throw up. He lived on ensure nutritional drinks for a while. Told me they were chocolate milkshakes and i can still taste how bad they were...yuck.

Ouch, Brad! I just saw this. I smashed my right hand in a 35 foot extension ladder a few years ago. Broke two fingers and lost a bunch of meat off of my hand. I remember the ER doc telling me this…

“Fingers f***ing hurt, man. Worse than anything”

It made me chuckle at the time, and I always think of him saying that - whenever I smash a finger.

    Heal up quick, buddy!

My Dad did the same. He was Chariot racing at the fair years ago, and his horse got its hind foot over the kick strap. He got it right in the jaw. Sent him flying and tumbling. He had to pack around the wire cutters in case he threw up. He lost a load of weight. My older brother and I were stacking rounds one day while dad was bucking. My brother was acting like he couldn't hear him tell us where to stack what where. It was funny until Dad wised up. He chunked a good size round right into my brothers chest. Knocked the wind out of him. No one made fun of his situation again, and we weren't obtuse about any thing he told us.

Well i turned 54 yesterday and was tempted to stroll around in my birthday suit.:emb:
Sweat shorts around the house. Worse part is i cant tie my boots. Some tension on the laces and tuck them in!

    Happy birthday!

I remember when I was younger I had a log fall and I tried to stop it, I broke 2 fingers on one hand and 1 on the other... It was a b**** trying to do anything.

I love velcro. I used to buy $20 Kmart special sneakers for the roof as laces would break within 3-4 days. I need to find cheap velcro work boots.
