Pulled the trigger yesterday on a Woodland Mills HS130 max with the bed extension. Very excited to make boards galore…..no clue what I am doing with them though!

I could see driving myself nuts if I had a mill...lumber, or firewood, lumber, or firewood, lumber, or firewood?! :hair:

My tune has changed , to me now it is lumber first.
Then if it is bad lumber it becomes awesome firewood.

Pretty quick you'll want a building for it.

Sawmill guys can't stand firewood guys...... they are always chopping up the best saw logs they can find to make $25 worth of firewood, instead of $200 worth of lumber. :loco:
I know...... them's fightin' words...... but I'm sticking to it. :p

One thing I learned real quick (about sawing logs) was how rare a truly straight log is, especially if you're looking to saw anything over 8' long! Then there's the taper.
I know I have a lot to learn about opening up a log but it's amazing how the slab pile grows in relation to your lumber pile sometimes... so seeing someone cutting up a straight log into 16” pieces for firewood can be frustrating.
