Me too, but what if it was some nice Goldilocks wood? Now there's major dilemma.

If they’re anything like the Black Bears in my area, I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Black Bears are usually pretty non-aggressive. Don’t do anything to antagonize them, and you’ll be fine. We have Sows with cubs come through our neighborhood occasionally, so long as Momma doesn’t feel like you’re threatening her cubs they’ll just mosey on along no problem.

Browns and Grizzlies are a completely different story, they can have a BAD Attitude, and go out of their way looking for Trouble, fortunately we haven’t got any of those around us

Cougars are also a different story, I don’t trust them any further than I can throw their carcass. Those Sneaky SOB’s Will attack people, we had a woman hiking the Hunchback Trail, about 7-8 miles from our house, killed and EATEN by a Cougar in August of 2018. That was Not an “Accidental Encounter “ gone wrong, they found the scene of the Initial attack, the Lady fought the cat off, and was trying to return to her vehicle, about 2 miles away, and the cat attacked her a second time, drug her into the bushes and ATE HER. That cat had stalked the woman as Prey.

They tracked the cat down and killed it, they did examine it’s stomach, and confirmed that they had the right animal

About the same time, up in Leavenworth, WA, another cat grabbed a 5 year old boy, right in the City Park, fortunately the family had their 2 dogs with them, which they unleashed, the dogs took having their family member grabbed, very personally, and the cat dropped the boy and escaped. Fortunately the boy didn’t suffer any serious injuries, but it could have ended very badly, had it not been for the dogs

I enjoy seeing all the wildlife where I live, but I am much more comfortable having the Bears around

Ok, Yogi can be a bit Rough on the Bird feeders and Garbage cans, but he is usually pretty pleasant around people. My Wife has a hair salon, this was in the backyard of one of her regular clients
