Glad it wasn't a critical injury but certainly serious enough! Very sorry to hear this. I have been doing a lot of splitting lately and will try to stay on my "A" game. If it can happen to the buZZsaw, it can happen to anybody! Hope you heal up and hair over quickly!

Yep I caught my little finger one time between a split and the plate.

Must have been a lot of tension in that split. Thanks for the reminder, Brad. Be careful.

Ouch that looks pretty painful. Take some time off and heal up, watch out for infection too.

You going to keep that split as a reminder? I know I would.

I am thinking that split should be in a glass encased coffee table:rofl:  Sorry...... Gotta admit it would be quite the conversation piece!

I'd probably save it too, as a reminder.

OUCH! Man oh man, bet that got your attention! Seriously, a wood splitter is something that can really do some damage as you well know! We are talking TONS not pounds, of force! It could have been a lot worse,on a lighter note, maybe carve a replacement thumb nail out of wood! Me, “mr curios” one time put a 2x4 cross ways in my splitter , just too see what, or how much force it would take to cut it in half. DICLAIMER: DO NOT TRY THIS! When it did break, it threw the 2x4 into the house with such force, I was surprised it didn’t damage the house! I’ll admit it it was stupid to do, but, the “mr curious bug “bit me, never again!

Not sure what the btu rating is for thumbs or the dry time but glad this wasn't a more serious injury.

Ouch! Glad that wasn't worse, but still....... I'm pretty sure that's not what the doc intended when he recommended losing a little weight. Heal up quick!

Another member reaching out to help someone else here , or volunteering his wife's help in this case.
That's what puts this place over the top.

I had a piece to pop out and catch me in the nose!
Below the safety glasses I was wearing and nowhere near my 3m earmuffs I had on. So much for safety.

Bloody nose and a hysterically laughing wife later all was well…

Ouch! I have scars all over my hands and arms but haven't lost a chunk yet.
Hope you have a fast recovery!

Your going to have to go back to braking the flaskers and not your self!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your injury from the birthday thread. I always ask for adamantium (like wolverine) replacements when I get injuries, but so far no doctors have taken me up on the suggestion. I know you’ll be back at it in no time, if you choose to be. And, I’m pretty sure you’ll choose to be, but just didn’t want to pressure you into anything that you are not comfortable with. I mean, locust can wait, and it will give the Forrest a better chance to run. ( run Forrest run!)
