Since my 2 main saws just crapped out on me last night. And planning on cutting a lot the next two weeks. I may be interested. Either this or another 260/261. Would like to figure out what caused my other problems before fueling up another one. Gun shy without knowing. But very interested, dumb question, what's PHO mean? On my archery forum we use TYD, "to your door". Have a pic of the saw?
Power Head Only. It means you won't receive a bar and chain, or any other extra goodies. Edit: Also, with two saws failing at the same time... I have to ask, did you possibly forget to mix oil into a new jug of gasoline?
This is a very good deal if you are thinking about it Kevin. The cheapest I have found the Husq 555 (which is a de-tuned 562xp) is $515 PHO. So to get the Real deal for $15 less, is an amazing deal! If you have never ran a 562xp? You owe it to yourself to buy this saw!!
No doubt it was mixed, I did it myself. I poured out dark mixed fuel last night too. Saws were running with smoke oil rich. They didnt scream clean liked raped apes before dying which usually happens if no mix. Kind of bogged down and low reving powerless. Plugs were burned dark and dry. But, my father in law filled 5 gal cans we used to make mix. He's very capable of buying E85 here in Iowa because it's a dollar cheaper a gallon and not wonder why or notice why. Investigation begins this morning. Going to post new thread with pics maybe. Thinking real hard about the 562. Thanks
I love my 372xp (was xtorq) now big bore non xtorq. It sounds like this is the little brother to it. But my ms260 pro has served me well for 10 years of hard use. For all day cutting it's well rounded. For this weekend I'm going to rely on the recent barn find 1987 Dollar 116 to get me through. With fresh 91 octane non ethanol, royal purple a 40:1.
What's "week 34" mean? Now that I know What PHO means...might as well learn 2 new things today. Thanks
That 562 will have power like the but weigh more like a MS 260 sized package. Best of both worlds!! Great power in a nimble and light package. The 562xp is arguably the best one saw plan made today. (The MS 362C-M is right up there as well ) Week 34 is just that. It was made in the 34th week of that year.
Thanks, I suspected that, just wasn't sure of the significance of say week 15 or 50. Was there changes mid year?
HVA has not updated the build spec since then IIRC so it has all the latest goodies. I will post some pictures for you. It will be shipped in its' HVA box with all its' tools and manuals. It also has the optional large felling dogs. It uses the D009/H-380 (large) bar mount as your 372.
Giving it a lot of thought, very tempting. Not sure what I want to do at the moment. I'm going to tear into my saws today and get an idea what I'm up against. Looks like the 372 piston burned up. The 260 is flooding out for some new reason. 350 overheating and wanting to burn up. Its up to the barn find Dolmar 116 to get me through the weekend. Should be interesting. But, because I have CAD ( I know what that means), I'm looking at picking up another one while I repair what I have. Just not sure of make and model direction I want to go yet. I wasn't planning on a new saw til next year. Please post pics. Thanks,
OK, it will be a little while, I have to go to UPS to ship out some saws. On your 372, when you converted it did you replace the seals? If the saw has a lot of run time on it check the intake boot very carefully for cracks/tears which can cause an excessively lean running condition which will toast the top end. I have also seen some of te AM BBK with base flanges that are not completely flat and do not seal well. Lastly I have also seen some AM carb boots that will seal against the carb when the saw is cold but leak when the saw is hot.
Not a lot of run time on it when converted it. The boot could be the culprit. I'm going to switch it back to the Xtorq now. It was a ChiCom BBK anyways, hindsight a bad idea. Thanks for all the info, I do appreciate it. Don't go out of your way to far for pics, although they do help entice a bit. I really haven't decided if I want a 60cc Husk or another 50 or 60cc Stihl.
Stick with your original plan for next year. Doing so, will make your significant other much easier to live with!
