No date yet. She's got 1 bid and waiting on a second. We'll see what kind of log pile that's created and go from there. Thanks! There's been multiple offers from members here to help. My cast comes off in 3 weeks. Time will tell. There's no rush to get the wood cut and moved
Well, my SIL had her trees taken down while I was out of town this past week. Her other BIL will be taking some as well as I. Reverse angle Good sized logs Black stain of chain death! And here I am waiting for a broken wrist and stiff shoulder to heal. Oh well. It's not going anywhere. The logs, that is.
Nice stuff. Make sure he takes the big stuff. I fell your pain Mike and can relate. How soon is the cast coming off? You wont have full use of it right away correct?
I go see Dr Hand this Wednesday morning. I'm guessing the cast will come off to be replaced with a removable brace, of sorts. It was on 3/3 that the slip occured. I still get twinges in the wrist if I'm holding or twisting the wrong way. It'll still be a some time before I can even ease back into being productive. A lost spring regarding yard work and wooding. It is what it is.
It's mostly white oak. There's one log that's part punky, that I think might be some kind of birch. This one
I remember having mine taken off and couldnt bend it back at all. Gradual transition to normal function. Itll come off and youll get work and wood done. Have you let the Mrs. split any wood?
Ummm... no. Not really. She did split a small piece of straight red oak a few years ago. That was enough for her. She's happy to keep the stove fed. That works for me.
All systems go to let my buddy have some trigger time with my saws, tomorrow morning. I fired both saws up. Good to go! I've gathered my various wooding stuff. Loaded all, but for volatiles.. I want to cut the rounds of oak into stove length, before addressing the newer logs. If we can zip and cut that birch, that would suffice for that pile. I'll be measuring, marking, rolling, moving...etc. while I was able to start my saws(foot on handle, pull), I'm still a one-armed man.
can we call you "slot machine"? I feel your "pain" Mike! I used the splitter a bit late this afternoon, but dont think im ready for saw usage yet. Possibly the top handle. Enjoy tomorrow and post pics.
I finally made it back to my SIL's, with my friend helping out. The goal was to halve the double width rounds. The 435 did the heavy lifting today. Splitting into chunks small enough to bring back to my place, will be next.
