Do you have a thread on the oil testing? I'd be curious to learn more about the different oils. Why do you say stay away from Stens synethetic, Stihl ultra, and Lucas?

Stens and ultra, and several others in fact, made it minutes in my testing compared to many than lasted hours.

Lucas synthetic leaves engine internals dry and with this almost powdery white substance. I didn't even test it as some trusted fellas had showed evidence of this.

Don't think you need a full synthetic oil to protect either. Every mineral oil I tested far exceeded many full synthetic oils.

Also that FD rating that many think is the be all / end all in quality is nothing more than a money grab. We saw many an FD rated oil crash and burn against oils without the seal of approval. JASO FA-FD ratings are a MINIMUM standard for one thing, and those standards can definitely be exceeded. Also FB - FD have the same standard for wear protection. They just have a cleaner burn standard as they go farther into the alphabet. See JASO information in this picture.

Now, more on my money grab comment and why I put zero stock in this rating system. The below picture is taken right from the JASO site and is their latest requirements for getting the privilege of paying to have the FD stamp on your oil. They don't even verify an oil blenders claims. Sole responsibility for an oil actually meeting the JASO standard lies with the oil blender. Screenshot_20211129-200349~2.png
I think I've probably said enough but I'll leave you with this....the best oil is the one you have a long standing track record with at whatever ratio you like.

I forgot about my bag of new stock and square ground Stihl 3/8 picco chains and my stock pile of 325 Oregon full chisel and Oregon 3/8 lp for the Makita saws. All in original boxes. Those reside in a drawer.

Sorry for sorta avoiding this subject in open forum. Oil "discussions" are as volatile as political "discussions". Been there done that. Name calling and character assassinations ensue if someones pet oil doesn't fare well in anyone's testing no matter how much effort was put into being fair, consistent and transparent. Unfortunately a couple of those same individuals are members here and I won't drag FHC down with what would undoubtedly ensue if I were to lay it all out. I will defend myself if attacked and will do so rapidly and viscously. This is too good of a place to bring that here even if I'm in the right. With that said, I'll answer anything you want at Denny's GTG if you are attending or in PM.

Stihl ultra didn’t do real well think it made 20 min at 200:1 which isn’t good but some did less including yamalube, stens and Lucas. The stihl orange bottle made all of 200:1 and 2 1/2 hours into 300:1. But in reality while not the best mixed at 40:1 a saw will live on all of it

It was 9 minutes and change on ultra but close enough. There are way better options.

Im almost out of the mix oil. What would you guys use instead of the full synthetic silver bottle Stihl
40 to 1? Not a wallet breaker either.

The oil. It's good stuff. Its not cheap though. It's one of the most expensive 2 stroke oils I've purchased.
