Next time let it sit another year top covered. It’ll split much cleaner that way.

 

Ok, I only split a little bit of it. I still have most of it in rounds. I’ll try to hold off on splitting the rest of it for now. It’s very wet in the middle. The dark meat in the middle of the rounds is showing 85-90% on the moisture meter. Thanks.

The fresh cut willow i unintentionally scored (had to take it with the whole score) a year ago split easily. It was on the smaller side.

 

I have a big willow but I'd never bother processing it so that and sycamore. I've never tried splitting or I've never saw any hoarder post pics of those 2. I had one big willow uproot and smash our pool. I cut it up and burned it on the scrap pile.

 

Id take elm over sycamore. Thats stuff scares me! Cool bark though.
