To cut back on my fall deliveries, I threw a post on Facebook about getting green firewood before prices go up next year. Had a fair amount of action on it. So recently, I’ve been splitting wood and tossing it right into the dump truck instead of my windrow piles. Sure is a time saver and something I could get used to.

Smart move Joe. Is it strange to deliver this time of the year?

I could too. Sold my last bulk order this week...full cord to a regular. He wouldnt use it til the Fall and would take semi seasoned. Had a mound of red maple split in January and i obliged. Saved me from moving to and stacking.

Makes perfect sense, especially with the fear of more rising prices.

Good call. Are you pricing lower than you would last year for a cord of seasoned?

How many of your customers heat with wood (vs recreational)? I figure they’d be most willing to buy green stuff

It’s very strange but it will pay off. No sense being stuck in my ways.

Yeah I figured. Makes sense. Face cords around me are up 10-20. Used to be ridiculously cheap…like $60 per face cord.
