Whatever you already have mixed up for your saws will work...old saws run just fine on modern oils at modern mix ratios

Nice to look at but I don't think I'd want to use one more than a couple of minutes, just to say I did.
I would guess probably 16:1 for that vintage.

I’d still consider at least 40:1 if not 32:1 even with good oil. Some of these old saws have bushings not bearings on wrist pins and crank so need more oil.

Yea I probably wouldn't go leaner than 32:1

I don't believe the ole Homeys are that way though...someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one.
That was one of the reasons that these things lasted so long, all needle and ball bearings.

I’m sure it has crank main bearings and a lower rod bearing but quite a few had a bushing for the upper rod/ wrist pin bearings. And yes it’s just a generalization but something to keep an eye out for. Lots of the old macs had wrist pin bushings and didn’t like to be turned fast or have lack of oil in mix.

You had to be a man to run those old saws for any amount of time I bet..

4A11B27E-F0C9-484B-BA82-01F8FDEBB1A3.jpeg I know these two will kick your but running them for any length of time. My 075 and 090 with 41” bars made the maple slab into a table.
